Title: It’s a life saver
Review: I had bought one of these chairs at a rummage sale a few years ago. My 96- and 94-year-old parents were living with me and I could see the writing on the wall concerning their mobility though neither of them wanted the chair for their self. For $25. I had nothing to lose if neither never used it. That chair was the best investment that I have ever made and it added quality to their lives. Fortunately, they didn’t need it at the same time. We found ourselves saying it was the best $25. that we ever spent. Because of that chair when my uncle woke up one day not being able to walk and could only crawl we bought the Medline Lightweight Foldable Transport Wheelchair and had it sent to him.His wife had borrowed a heavy loaner wheelchair so she could take my uncle to his many doctor appointments. Loading that heavy wheelchair in and out of her car was killing her back. She cried of joy when she received the transport chair. It made their life so much better. My sister, severely hurt her knee. She and her family had plans and reservations to visit Washington D.C. with her on crutches. I had this transport chair sent to her house in S.C. in time for their trip. She wouldn’t have made it 1/2 day on her crutches. The transport chair saved their vacation. It was easy to put in their trunk, then to take it on the train and then touring D.C. My brother-in-law said one day he pushed her around for 11 miles in the chair.I can’t say enough about that transport chair. It’s comfort, stability, its light weight, its just a life saver for the one who is pushing it and adds quality to the users life.

Title: Very nice for the price
Review: Very easy to use. My 70 year old mother takes care of another lady who is in her 80’s. My mother is able to get this wheeler chair in and out of her SUV and get the older lady in it and push her. Very lightweight. The only strange thing is the way the back of the chair is made, it folds down for storage but that causes it to not stay up sturdily. The screws they have in there are really short. If they were longer it would be more sturdy. Also you have to push the handle breaks down pretty hard to lock the brakes. That is NOT clear in the booklet. It was hard to find. I would still recommend this for the price, weight and ease of use. There is no assembly, so that is nice.

Title: Light Weight! Taller Wheels! Effective!
Review: We bought this for my wife’s mother, to replace a much older one that had failed. This is very light! This one is exactly light the one it replaced. Except! It’s made of aluminum. Making it easier to get in an out of a vehicle. And this one has some-what larger wheels then the one it replaces for us. Making it easier to get over thresholds. This is a more modern model. So the breaks are better. No more having to lean over and engage break handles on each wheel. There are hand breaks on the push handle. Making them easier and safer to use.Be sure to note the dimensions. This particular model is not for heavier people. The seat dimension is smaller than some. I’m 6’2” and 215 pounds and it’s very snug. We’re using it with a 5’7” lady that weighs 134 pounds and she likes it a lot.

Title: Need bigger hands to use the brakes
Review: Nice transport chair with a sturdy frame and bigger wheels for a smooth ride. Folding is quick and it is not that heavy to toss into the back of the SUV. Our last chair, all the wheels were the same size and felt flimsy compared to this new chair. When you measure for the chair, realize that the handles are the widest point. This adds to the comfort of the chair not digging into the rider’s back but also means your knuckles might feel the wall/door frame 1st. The adjustable foot rests are awesome and easy to pick the size.Could be better comments:The brake handles are a bit over sized though. If you buy medium gloves, you might find your hands strain to be on the handles and your fingers be in the brake levers. Compare to the brake handles in the pictures for Medline’s wheel chair or walking assist strollers, those handles look more like brakes you find on a bike that will fit more sizes of hands. There is also a “drag” feel in the wheels when pushing it. When we turn it over and spin the wheels, 2 spin freely and 2 only make a few rotations before stopping on their own. The wheels also aren’t true and when you spin them you can see a slight wobble as they move around. We do feel a slight pull to the left which is easy to compensate for. Also finding that the wheels don’t always stay on the ground when going over uneven surfaces. Few times one of the front wheels looses contact with the ground and spins bumping into the person’s foot. (like a shopping cart wheel might spin) Might try adjusting the middle pivot bars. Other transport chairs we have don’t have this problem over the same surfaces.Around the house we keep the foot rests off but use them when going out. The rest is just a flat surface so it depends on your shoe grip to keep your feet in place. Other chairs have a strap or notch for your heel to rest on so you can relax and not have to keep your feet there. Not a deal breaker for the chair!!Over all happy with the chair, glad we got it.

Title: Great chair in the house
Review: I never write reviews. However, this chair is great. Had no problems with the brakes. My husband has cancer and the treatment made him weak so needed a wheelchair in the house. Easily moved around corners and the arms are long enough for him to grab to move to bed or chair. The hand brakes are way for me to use and the chair is light so I can transport if needed. I only wish it came with washable seat and back cushions for comfort and cleaning. Great chair for the price.

Review: I bought this for my mother based on the features of a similar wheelchair that we had borrowed and that I liked. But this one was a little better. We’ve used it for 3 months, now, whenever she has to go out. It’s light enough to be easy to put into a car’s trunk with one hand. The footrests are detachable, and if the trunk is a bit too small, the handles fold down. And that design is nicely done because there’s a bit of a bend in the handles so that they wrap around the frame. Other transport wheelchairs have the handle straight with the frame and they end up having to be angled away so those chairs don’t lay flat. This one does lay flat with the handles folded, and that also makes the chair significantly smaller. The brakes can be locked (a common feature). The footrests can be flipped up or swung all the way out of the way, to clear a path to a chair (or car seat)(a common feature, I think). There are pushbars near the rear wheels to help tilt up the chair to get over small bumps. It folds and unfolds very easily. This isn’t a super sturdy chair for negotiating rough terrain but it does reliably get my mother to her doctors and the table at the restaurant with little fuss, which is all I ask of it. It was definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Review: I bought this for my father who is 180 lbs and 5’8″. He says it is very comfortable and the large wheels help to make the ride smooth over small bumps. Sometimes he sits in it at home instead of the normal house furniture because he says it is so comfortable. It is very light for the size, and easy to push with someone it it. The foot rests remove, handles fold down, and sides come together about half the original width, then it easily fits in any small hatchback and probably most sedan trunks. It can be collapsed, or reassembled, in under a minute. It fits in the rear of my Toyota mini van without any need to collapse. I just put it in the back standing on the wheels, and lock the brakes. The construction is very good, but beware this is a light duty chair which I don’t think can take extreme use. It doesn’t go at all in gravel, sand or thick lawns. I was afraid to break it when once I tried pushing my dad across the lawn. I took my dad to a cemetery with a paved foot path that had lots of roots raising the pavement. The chair felt like it was twisting out of shape, and I am sure it would not endure a lot of this twisting. The chair is not meant for “off roading”. If you stay on hard flat surfaces it is a great chair for the user and the pusher. I think it is very good value and would highly recommend if used only on flat, firm surfaces.
