Title: Long-Lasting and Most Useful Magnifier Made
Review: I had previously said that I had received some of these where the light did not work. I got them from different selllers and some of the sellers had a protective slip on the batteries. I have these magnifiers all over my house. I have to wear reading glasses to read, but sometimes they are not strong enough to read labels. I have five or six of these magnifiers stashed all over the house. You press the buttons on the side and the magnifier pops out and the light comes on. The magnifier is large and the light is sufficient to light the entire area being magnified. I will probably be ordering more. The only problem is that sometimes, after repeated use, the magnifier does not pop out as easily or occasionally it becomes stuck in the out position and needs to be gently manipulated to get it out enough to get the light to come on or to get it to go back in. That, however, is after thousands of uses. I cannot recommend this magnifier highly enough. I have several different products like this and this is, by far, the best one I have ever used.

Title: Perfectly Pragmatic: Good Quality
Review: Of course, we tend to compare similar items that we’ve acquired, so first of all let me admit this was not my first choice. I had previously ordered four or five of a similar but slightly smaller magnifier, but the option to ship to a PO BOX was no longer available. So this is a different, larger size, and takes two steps to turn on the lighted feature (which requires two batteries–included), whereas the preferred magnifier automatically produced the lighted feature and did not require batteries. Never-the-less, I do recommend this magnifier, for it is adequate for the needs of a person who’s eyesight needs it, and it is small enough for portability.

Title: Exceptionally helpful tool
Review: I bought another version of this on Amazon and promptly gave it away because I didn’t find it convenient or helpful, and then I bought this model. For my 60 something year old eyes, this thing is ideal. The first click open gives you access to the two lenses which are clear and large enough to easily read even the smallest print or perform parts inspections. A second click extends the lens a tad more to activate the built-in bright white LED. That feature is perfect for use in dark restaurants, and you’ll really appreciate it when you get yourself a tiny splinter or need to read the micro print on better on a product label. Easy to use, batteries seem to last swell, and its weight is fine. Fits in my shirt pocket and I don’t even notice it there. I hope the lens frame’s durability holds up to daily use but I would buy a replacement unit even if it breaks, just because it does such a good job as an extra set of eyes.

Title: Great until it is’t
Review: AMENDED 12/29/2023 — Light worked great until recently. One negative terminal spring broke ending it’s usefulness and today a second became hot to the touch while turned off. When opened the batteries were very hot and I ejected both. I am becoming leery of the product for fire safety reasons. Perhaps the batteries need be removed when not in use …I bought two of these a year or so ago and they prove to be so useful that when one was damaged because of a battery leak that I went ahead and got two more. They are handy in reading the small print on a menu and the bright LED bulb is ample for lighting up the page. I also hope they notice me having to use it on their lousy menu and design the next version with more reader friendly fonts.I also appreciate the magnifier to help me read the fine type on many web pages. I have one next to every computer monitor in the house.

Title: Arrived broken
Review: Bought the Mighty Bright and the Carson 5x minibrite on the same order. The light on the MB did not work when I put the batteries in so I’ll never know if it lives up to its name. The magnification was too weak and it seemed kinda cheap so I returned it for a refund. The Carson is a bit sturdier with much better magnification and the light is decent. But, It is not for lengthy reading due to its compact size.

Title: Much brighter version of an old favorite
Review: About 1989 a black plastic pop-up 2x magnifier much like this one was sold under the Bausch and Lomb nameplate. It was lit by a small incandescent flashlight bulb, powered by two AAA batteries. Even though the light was warm in color and not very bright it the whole package was compact, useful and generally handy. The pop-up feature protected the plastic lens when it was not in use. It is still available in obscure corners of the net.Now it’s back under the Mighty Bright name in much improved form, made under the same patent. Principal advantage is the LED light which is very bright and pure white in color. Now it operates in two stages: first button press pops out the magnifier, second press turns on the light, so you need not use the light when it isn’t needed or might be a distraction. It’s just slightly thicker than the original and painted an aluminum color, the durability of which remains to be seen. Batteries last much longer as you might expect. I carry one in my briefcase and keep another in my desk drawer.

Review: I bought this 6 years ago and it just occurred to me I never reviewed it.It’s been brilliant – I use it all the time at my desk for looking at detailed technical drawings for work. I like to have a hardcopy of these things on my desk as well as being able to look at them electronically so I can mark them up and put notes on but often I can’t see them properly with my rubbish eyesight.It’s about the size of a pack of playing cards but about half as thick so it doesn’t take up much room. The main part of the glass is well-sized and there is a small inset for greater magnification which is good for small text. The light is also a really useful feature and I’m still using the batteries it came with after 6 years! The glass pops away into the body of the handle to protect it and keep it clean.All in all, it’s a well-thought-out tool and for the money, it’s been great value.
