Title: Works well 🙂 .. As long as you don’t shut it down.
Review: EDIT 10/22/25: I completely shut down this device for a couple days to save battery power, and went to turn it back on yesterday… and nothing shows up now, the screen is completely blank. The wallpaper shows and it allows you to “unlock”, shut off or restart the device, but otherwise you are brought to a blank white screen. I’ll be returning this now. It sucks because the device worked fine for 2 weeks with no problem.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Bought this tablet after wanting to trade my onn tablet for an actual dedicated ereader, but didn’t want to be locked down to Kindle, Kobo, or Nook. The first tablet sent to me didn’t work, but after contacting Amazon they were quick to send a replacement. Turned on quick, doesn’t need WLAN for setup so starting was a breeze.Portable & Lightweight at a 6inch screen reminiscent of the original 6in Kindle. The color is nice and bright, readable text but only has light mode, however there is a temperature slider to make the screen warmer for night reading. Only one button is available on the entire device- everything else is done by navigation gestures on the screen. There is ghosting but it’s to be expected with eink screens, especially when scrolling. Like all ereaders this should be put in a 6in protective case that closes to cover the screen to make sure it doesn’t get damaged. This is definitely an android *based* tablet. It is book-first, exactly what I want in an ereader, but I’m having trouble with all of my book files showing in the library, sometimes you have to go into the file manager to dig up a book. Has Visible Network Wi-fi and Bluetooth compatibility.Play store is available, Apps are available but through the settings screen… You can pin a singular app on the bottom home navigator. The device also allows you to install app packages you have downloaded in via your computer, so loading FOSS apps is an easy task. Apps also have a “page size scale” more akin to a DPI scale, and will make elements in the app bigger or smaller. The device defaults to the 200s range but I recommend the higher 300s if you have a hard time reading text.Speaking of text… You can load custom fonts into this which I haven’t tried yet. You can also have the book cover as a wallpaper (though it must be a book read thru the native library launcher and not an app) or a custom wallpaper you load in from a computer which makes customization a high mark from me :)My first complaint is if an app requests for the file browser, you might get the mascot with an error in Chinese with noway to select the file. If your reader app needs to load a backup for whatever reason, youre out of luck.My other complaint, more of a suggestion, is this tablet has compatibility with a smart case with page turn buttons and auto screen shut off with the cover as shown in the settings, which I can only assume what the 4pin connecor on the back is for. Sadly I see nowhere to purchase this. I’d love to buy that if it ever comes out.For the price point, I’d day this tablets worth it. It does it’s job and does it well enough. Good Job Musnap 🙂

Title: Not What I Was Hoping For
Review: I was looking for a color e-reader that would allow 3rd party apps so I could enjoy all my books on one device. I got the 3rd party apps but not the color. The color quality is poor and pixelated, it’s very light-weight and almost feels flimsy, and is much slower than my Kindle. Also, I can’t find a case for it on Amazon. The price was right, though.Update: My Musnap Neo C just had an update last night and now it’s useless. The screen is totally blank. The only thing that I can do on it is change the settings. I can’t see any apps or open any books. Useless! Changed my review to one star because I can’t do zero!

Title: I liked it until…
Review: It was working well for about a month then a system update ran, now it is just a blank screen and unusable. I tried contacting them through their site and sent an email request for help but it’s been a week and there’s been no response.

Title: Sistem update breaks the device
Review: Do not update the system, it completely breaks the device, it doesn’t allow you to do absolutely anything, it basically turns into a brick that can’t even lock its screen, a disaster!

Title: A Very Good eReader with Superior Specs That Does So Much More Than An eReader
Review: Update: 11/2/2025 – I got a message on my Neo that there was an update, so I followed the onscreen instructions. Now, my Neo does NOT work anymore. I get the error message “com.szzy.ireader.systemui” has stopped, which prevents me from booting back into the User Interface. Now, I guess I have a rectangular Frisbee. I reached out to Musnap via their Contact page on their website, but as of yet have not received any response. I will update this review if anything changes. I guess we’re going to see just how good Musnap customer service is (or isn’t). I have reduced my 5 star rating to 1 star in remembrance of a good little eReader that a manufacturer’s update bricked. This Neo 64GB+2GB Back and White 6-inch E Ink ePaper eReader Neo 64GB+2GB eBook Reader Supports 3rd-Party apps through its use of Android. By downloading the Kindle app, I now have access to my entire Kindle library on this Musnap eReader. The storage capacity is gargantuan, 64GB, compared to my Rakuten Clara Colour, 16GB, and Libra Colour, 32GB, as well as my Paperwhite Signature Edition, 32GB, and standard Kindle, 16GB. The only eReader that matches it is my Kindle Scribe at 64GB.Battery life is pretty good when using it for reading, browsing the web, and even playing games like Solitaire or Mahjong. When downloading books or apps, battery life suffers. When I first got this Musnap Neo, downloading books and apps, the battery reserve shrunk somewhat quickly, which worried me. But after I got it set up the way I wanted (again, books and apps), the battery life became much more reasonable.Download speeds could be better, but understanding that this is an eReader, not a tablet, should adjust your expectations accordingly.I purchased a small 6-7 inch universal eReader case, highlights its great looks and protects it better than if I had no case for it. The Neo is comfortable when reading it in the case, or if I decide to remove the case and just hold it in my hands. It feels great either way.The 6-inch black and white Carta 1300 E Ink display is very snappy. Books are rendered in excellent sharpness and contrast with its 300 pixels per inch spec. When browsing the web with Opera Mini browser, websites are rendered well also and moving up and down the page is never “laggy.” I even ran some news videos on it, and while this display is not really suited to this, it was easily good enough to get what the video was trying to communicate. The integrated speaker removes the need to use a Bluetooth speaker for audiobooks.Considering the excellent Carta 1300 display, the quad-core 2.0GHz chip, the 2GB RAM, 64GB of storage, the integrated speaker, and the android OS onboard, its asking price is more than fair, and at the time of this review, the $30 coupon makes it an even greater value for your money.

Title: Disappointed
Review: Didn’t work with Kindle on Amazon, very disappointed. Cute little device though, too bad it’s impossible to set up to work with Amazon.
