Title: A lovely pocket book
Review: Overall, I’m really impressed with the OBOOK5. My first impression was how incredibly lightweight and compact it is. It fits perfectly in my hand for easy one-handed reading. It takes about 3-4 seconds for a book to load, which is the only slight delay. The OBOOK5 is a bit smaller than the Palma and much more portable than 6-inch devices. It’s so convenient to carry around—I can just slip it into my pocket and go. Highly recommended! As a closed-system device, it’s perfect for curating your own library without the distractions of ads or endless notifications. It offers a truly immersive reading experience. I did notice the text can look a little pixelated at times, but adjusting the font settings helps a lot.

Title: Fantastic ereader with mediocre build quality.
Review: The oBook 5 is a great little ereader. There’s so few options for ereaders of this size that it’s not like there’s many options regardless. But this ereader is unique for its size class in having a backlight, and it gets VERY bright if needed. The battery life is very good, and with 32gb of storage it could easily hold thousands of epubs. I wound up returning mine though, because the build quality is just so bad. The charge port in mine wasn’t even straight, like the port’s insides were coming off the motherboard due to a bad soldering job. If they charged an extra $50 for better build quality I’d happily buy one and keep it for years.

Title: Cannot Connect to ANY Computer
Review: This device won’t connect to any computer I own for me to be able to upload to it. Honestly feels like a huge waste of money.

Title: Good entry level reader for my kid
Review: Initially this eReader did not meet my expectations. However, I gave it to my son (age 11) and he really likes it. He has been using for a couple months now. The battery life is great and he only charges it once a month. Priced at around $75 this a barebones compact ebook reader that is a decent value compared to similar eReaders. It doesn’t really have any standout features besides the small size. The only reason I would recommend this eReader is if you NEED something compact that can fit in your pocket. It is a little smaller than a typical mobile phone. My experience is different from my son. I am somewhat disappointed that the display is low resolution and pixelated. It is not crisp and clean. It is distracting at first, but it is still easy enough to read as long as the text is larger. When I tested out a Kindle the text was so clear it looked like a book.Interacting with the touchscreen is sluggish (as expected with e-ink displays), but so much that it becomes frustrating and challenging to navigate at times. Sometimes inputting double characters, or not inputting them at all.The reading experience is barebones. You can mark text, write notes (too tedious to really use practically), and search for selected text. There is no built-in dictionary or other helpful tools. You can adjust fonts, margins, etc. The backlight works well and is evenly lit for nighttime reading.Music playback is as basic as it gets. Playback is limited to MP3 (I tested wma, m4b, mp3, and m4a). You have to keep the app open to listen to music which means no reading and playing audio. I was really disappointed by the lack of m4b support that is commonly used for audiobooks. The Obook includes a Gutenberg app to search for free eBooks right from the device. With about 24GB of space available you can easily load this device up with a ton of books, and a few audio books as well.Plugging the USB into a Windows computer gives you access to the storage and you can easily drag and drop files. The file transfer speed is really slow and it took about 7 minutes to transfer a 2GB audio file.Connecting to Wifi and Bluetooth is easy and works well.

Title: Hmmm…perhaps save for a Kindle??
Review: I’m kinda stuck in the middle for this one. I wanna say it is good for kids, but only the other hand you can also get them a Kindle for a lesser or equal price and get relatively better quality. The size is nice and small so it’s easier to carry than a Kindle and there is a store to get books from. All and all, you might be better off getting a Kindle especially if you have issues with smaller text or smaller screens.
