Title: Good sound clarity but fit takes some getting used to
Review: Got these for my dad about three weeks ago and he’s been wearing them daily since. The sound clarity is noticeably better for him – he’s not asking us to repeat ourselves as much during conversations at dinner, and he’s turned down the TV volume which we all appreciate. The speech enhancement seems to work well for one-on-one talking, voices come through clearer than his old amplifier he was using before. The different settings for various environments are helpful, he uses a quieter mode at home and bumps it up when we go out to eat. At only 0.14oz each they’re lightweight and he says he forgets they’re in after awhile. The fit behind the ear is pretty discreet, you don’t really notice them unless you’re looking. Now the adjustment period was a bit rough – the first few days he complained about them feeling weird in his ears and we had to try different ear tip sizes before finding ones that stayed put comfortably. The charging case is convenient and compact, easy to toss in a bag when traveling. A full charge does last most of the day for him, usually 9-10 hours of actual use before needing the case. The case holding multiple charges is nice for when he forgets to plug it in. One issue we noticed is in really noisy environments like a crowded restaurant, the background noise reduction helps but doesn’t eliminate everything – he still struggles in those situations. The wind noise feature works decent for his morning walks. The buttons on the units are small and a bit tricky for older fingers to press. For the price compared to prescription hearing aids these are a reasonable option to try first, just expect some trial and error finding the right fit.
