Title: Handy 6″ Stainless Ruler with Many Scales
Review: This PEC Tools 6″ stainless ruler is just the thing to have on hand for casually measuring just about anything. I’d rather use my digital dial calipers than make sense of the 1/100 scale on this ruler, but if I had to, I could use the onboard magnifier on my phone. I love high-quality tools, and I can see including this little ruler in my estate planning. It looks great, it’s thick enough to resist bending, it’s accuracy is spot-on, and it functions perfectly.

Title: Narrow, but EXCELLENT quality
Review: This is an AMAZING little ruler! I make miniatures, so these tiny measurements in fractions of inches (32nds, 64ths, 50ths, 100ths) could be super beneficial in anything I need to make accurate, the 32nds being the most beneficial. I could see this being far more beneficial for engineering than miniatures though.I originally ordered it because I needed a 6” straight edge for guiding my knives, and I’m not sure this will safely work for that. It’s too narrow at 3/4” to safely keep my fingers out of the way while cutting. The quality is EXCELLENT. The engraving is clear and concise, which is impressive for such tiny measurements. The steel is strong and sturdy. I love that it’s made in the USA! It arrived with a thin film of what I believe was dried oil, but that was easily wiped off with some dish soap.Literally the ONLY reason I’ve subtracted a star is the narrowness of the ruler. If it was a quarter inch (or more) wider, I would give it five stars. If narrow is okay for your needs, do consider purchasing this one. Seriously excellent quality.

Title: High contrast, accuracy is dead on
Review: I don’t have any gauge blocks on hand so this 1-2-3 block (with a dimensional accuracy of about 0.0001″) is the most accurate reference I’ve got to compare the ruler against. I set it up on a surface plate and it reads dead on at 3″. Can’t ask for any better than that. It’d be nice if my eyesight was still good enough to read the mm scale without help, but that’s not the ruler’s fault. The quality is nice and I’m sure I’ll still be using it 20 years from now.

Title: Accurate, durable, dependable
Review: So I have come to adore this company. If you’re involved in woodworking a few key companies come to mind that are trusted by many.PEC is one of them. Known for accuracy and high quality they are a cut above 80% out there. This 6 inch ruler is no different. The feel and build is excellent. It is thin and slightly flexible which is a good thing to me.The etching is spot on and the machining is dead on perfect. No burrs, no blemishes as expected. While it is a bit pricey for a 6″ it is because they have high standards to pass them ..any small issue and they are simply put aside. These are durable lifetime instruments.I without hesitation would recommend pretty much any measuring instruments made from them.

Title: Accurate Measurement Markings With Great Contrast
Review: I am quite pleased with the quality of this PEC Tools Rigid 12-Inch Stainless Steel Ruler. While I am not a machinist, I do hobby work which includes woodworking, and this will work perfectly as far as measuring cutting marks for my various projects. I have compared the markings on this ruler against another that I know to be accurate, and the accuracy of the markings is perfect. Its sharp, white markings are pretty easy to read, and the black finish on the metal is near matte-like, but slightly reflective depending on the angle of the light. Fingerprints or smudging due to my handling it is evident, also depending on the angle of the light. Maybe I have slightly oily skin or had something on my fingers. It did wipe clean with a soft cloth though. The ruler is of good thickness, and as far as its weight is concerned, it’s not too heavy nor is it light and flimsy. While it is rigid, it has a slight flex to it. I would be wary of flexing it too much for fear of putting a bend or kink in it. That would probably not be something you could bend back out very easily. I had mentioned that the markings are sharp and pretty easy to read, but perhaps I should mention that older eyes may have some difficulty reading the 1/50” and 1/64” markings. These markings are well defined, but you may need to use reading glasses or have a magnifier handy when using those scales.I find this ruler to be a good value for the price point. And I am happy that it is made in the USA!

Title: Best in the business!
Review: Anytime I see a PEC measurement tool I instinctively buy it immediately lol. I have a handful of their metal rules as well as a combination square, blade and center head and I’ve never been anything but super impressed. They are made in USA and are as accurate as it gets. If you are looking for reliable precision tools and don’t want to spend the extra $ on more expensive brands…. Cough …Starrett… this brand is on par with the absolute best at a much better price. Love their finishes also. This one came in a black coated finish and it’s a little bit harder to read in specific lighting than their regular no glare chrome version. Check the pics to see a few of their 6” rules.
