Title: Rigid Ruler
Review: This is made of a nice gauge of metal. This is great straight edge also as it is fairly stiff. I have others that are also good and more flexible if i need more bending so this rigid ruler has its place. Graduations are deeply and filled with color so is very legible. The rule is the same on both sides for millimeters and half millimeter scales. I view PEC as a precision tool manufacturer so I trust this rules accuracy. Odd their name is not on it though. Good tool so I will recommend it.

Title: Fantastic ruler! Made in USA!!
Review: This is a fantastic tool, it’s made from steel, has clear accurate markings, and is the perfect size for any hobbyist or professional. The ruler is easy very easy to read as the markings are white on a steel background, and each notch appears to be etched into the steel. The ruler is a single piece of 1mm thick steel and feels fairly indestructible.Yes, this is an expensive ruler but it’s a high quality American made tool, and I think it’s worth supporting businesses like these which still make important tools like this domestically. You can definitely but a similar imported ruler but I know that if I pick up one of these, I’m getting something high quality and accurate and I can’t always make that assumption with others. I would recommend this, and I think I might pick up another one with a different scale.

Title: Not quite as nice as I expected for the price
Review: This is a handy sized metric ruler, with what seem to be laser engraved markings that are clear and easy to read – sometimes.It’s thick enough to not get bent while you’re using it, and it says it’s tempered. And it seems to be heat blackened – you can see signs of that heat blocking didn’t quite reach all the way into one of the corners.The blackened finish is a bit mottled and the white text is easily visible when the light hits the ruler just right. If there’s glare, it bounces off the shiny surface and makes it difficult to read the white marks. This is not a huge issue, since you can change angle the ruler to read it if there is room where you need to take those measurements. But I kindly wish it was easily readable from more angles regardless of the light. I bought it because I specifically wanted a black ruler with white markings for easy to read high contrast, and I don’t feel that’s what I’m consistently getting.Another issue is a missed opportunity, which is that it has identical markings on front and back. That might seem like a good thing, but they’re identical so there’s that literally no point in using one side or the other. The top has millimeter graduation. And the bottom has half millimeter graduations. But what if I want the half millimeter graduations on the top because I’m measuring something from underneath? All they had to do is switch the positions of the millimeter and half millimeter graduations on the opposite side, but they didn’t.Overall, this just isn’t the quality I expect for a $20 300 mm ruler. I’m sure one could spend more or less, but the finish isn’t fantastic, and the obverse side was not designed for extra utility. The graduations seem fine, it’s just not quite what I was expecting.
