It is coated with Titanium Nitride for extreme scratch resistance and ultra-high contrast. It is made from the finest steel available and is hardened and tempered. Graduations are precision photo etched and then black filled for easy readability. English / Metric graduations show 5 mm and mm markings on one side and 32nds and 64ths on the reverse. Rule is .75 inches wide and .035 inches thick. Both long edges are ground flat and straight.

Review: Fine tool for true craftsman. Well made, great looking. Great for fine precise measurements.I am a dedicated home handyman who enjoys doing most all of my own repair work. I have couple of 6″ scales now but wanted something with both metric and English measurements. This one certainly does. However the scales are broken down into such small increments that you have to study it to read it.Bottom line, wonderfully made tool but with increments so fine it is hard to read at a glance.
