Review: this ruler (or the right term, steel rule as machinists call them) is a work of art you gotta get this. it’s the world’s best rule, titanium nitride for scratch resistance, use it as a feeler gauge as it’s .035” thick, fine lines that are etched make for easy readings, 100th’s make for fine readings, get the rigid one, carry a flexible rule in your pocket and it will eventually start bowing so it’ll never lay flat on a flat surface, stir your coffee with this rule, made in USA which is awesome, pricey but ball out and get this holy golden ruler it’ll last a life time this ruler will change your life you’ll be measuring stuff all day with how awesome this rule is don’t let your neighbors borrow this ruler it’s too precious to loan out to your stealing friends also comes with a small blue vinyl pouch which is nice expensive but worth every dolla you feel me?

Title: and I really like those too
Review: I’d been using a black chrome 6″ flexible rule from PEC for nine months, and I really like those too, but these are better. The excellent deeply engraved marks mean that the black rule tends to have its markings obscured by crud, and that doesn’t happen with this one. In the interest of full disclosure I must admit that some of my love of this one is simply that I can call it the “Golden Rule”. It really is easier to see in most lighting conditions, however, so if you don’t mind the price premium too much (and really, it’s still very reasonable) this is the one to get. It’s a beautiful tool, both in form and function.

Review: I purchased two of these for shop use and the other as a gift, one arrived in a sleeve that was sliced open (lengthwise) and both sealed with blue masking tape. One had very poor marking that made lines blur (I assumed it was grease or a smudge and cant fix it) the other has several smudges that can’t be fixed. Very rigid.Lesson learned. Going back to Starrett for the next rules I need.

Title: looks and lasts great
Review: a coworker has one about 10 years old still fully readable. I use it to set how long tools extend from holders for cnc mills.The TIN coating provides a good contrast to see the black letters better than my old silver grey ruler. The decimal values are great too.

Review: Please consider the following design changes.. drop the 1/10 and replace with mm. On the 4 ends, put a short scale for each of the unit systems at 90-deg to the other scales. REALLY want one of these.
