Title: Literally a life saver
Review: I looked at this a week or two ago, because I wasn’t thinking and got my nails done. I needed a way to get my lens off. But reviews saying it doesn’t work made me iffy.Well, last night my lens folded in my eye, after I rubbed because I got soap in there on accident. I’ve been miserable since last night. Looking straight into your hole and following the directions to the letter, it took me 2-3 tries per eye, but it came out super easy, no discomfort and no pain.10/10 recommend if you have fake nails.

Title: Does not work. Does not pinch as required
Review: The Opti-Wand contact lens installer/remover did not work for me. I have no trouble inserting my Dailies 1 soft contacts by Alcon manually. However, these lens have such a perfect curvature to match my cornea that it’s very difficult to break the seal necessary to get them out. The snazzy video and (some positive) Amazon comments led me to order this product. After giving them a good workout and trying to get the necessary technic down I must conclude they won’t pinch as described.I use the small end of the Wand with the cut-outs as instructed. The idea is not to use the Wand as a suction cup. Rather it is intended to slightly pinch the lens so that air can get between the lens and the cornea allowing one to lift to be lifted out and away from the eye. Sounds good in theory. The problem with this is that they do not grip the lens allowing one to pinch; they simply slide across the lens. As a test I placed one contact on the tip of my index finger using it to mimic my cornea. But again, they only slide and do not pinch the lens as required. I have tried this with the lens slightly wet with storing solution and with the lens dry. Nothing works. I’ve tried the Wand with other brands of soft lens. They were ineffective here as well. Perhaps others have had more luck. But not me. Quite expensive for something like this even if it did work. I can’t recommend this product.

Title: Wierd little device, but works
Review: I have to wear AirSoft contacts, which I’ve found to be incredibly difficult to remove compared to my old lenses. These lenses don’t just slide or pop out as the old ones did, and I’ve either bruised my eyelids trying to get the things out or gave up completely and lost a lens in my sleep because they slip out and run away when I’m not looking. Apparently. Anyway, not being wealthy, I can’t afford to keep losing contacts so I Googled and found this little tool. It looks creepy and I wasn’t sure if it would work at all but, as I said, I can’t afford to keep losing contacts unless I find a sugar daddy (which seemed a bit extreme). The whatsit arrived yesterday. I tried once again to remove my lenses as a normal human would, but the right lens didn’t even respond to threats. With some trepidation, I removed the tiny thingamajig from the package and re-read the instructions a few times using my right eye, hoping to take some of the fight out of that lense. After a few tries, that rebel scum gave up and popped neatly out, THANK THE GOD OF INVENTORS. The trick is to not let the idea of sticking a tiny plunger into your eye and using the right amount of pressure.Tl;dr, product works as described and I am happy.

Title: No real advantage over the cheaper versions
Review: Works for insert but no real grip for extraction, easier to do it with your fingers

Title: Very disappointed.
Review: This product said you could use to place contact in eye, or take contact out of your eye. I needed it to take my contact out, and it doesn’t work for me at all. I’m very disappointed with it and can’t believe I payed $14 for a piece of rubber that doesn’t work! I’d gladly send it back for a refund but it is non returnable. So in that case, I’m asking for a full refund. I’ll let you kow if I hear from the company on getting my money back. If they are a reputable company, they would do that.

Title: ONLY Good for Inserting
Review: Does NOT work for removal, only insertion. More below…I tried pinching the lenses off using both ends, following the instructions. The end result is just pinching, prodding and scratching at your eye until you’re convinced you’ve just seriously messed up your eyeball. Practicing on your finger, like they tell you to, does absolutely nothing. It’s totally different than having a lense on your eye. I even tried to scoop it out with the “slits” on the one end, as another reviewer tried to in their video. No luck. Still struggling to remove my dailies which adhere to my eye so well that they don’t want to come off.I will say this product is great for inserting. Just pick whichever end you want to use, hold your eye open and place it onto your eye as instructed. Normally I fight with my dailies sticking to my finger, turning inside out, sliding off of my finger, etc. This thing makes it SO much easier. However, you can find other tools in this shape and way cheaper than this one. Not that ~$10 breaks the bank. It’s just ridiculous for what the product is.

Title: It’s been a learning experience, but much easier than my fingers. I have deep set eyes…..
Review: It’s been a learning experience, but much easier than my fingers. I have deep set eyes and most instructional videos only show these huge eyes with easy access to pulling away upper and lower eye lashes. My upper eyelashes don’t allow me to do as in these videos and this tool has been very helpful. I’m in week two of using the Optiwand and use it for both inserting and removing lenses. It’s still a work in progress, but I continue to tweak. Had both lenses in and out yesterday in 15 minutes. I bought a magnifying mirror and this has been very helpful too. It blows up my eye image with it’s magnification by moving face as close or near for optimal clarity while inserting. Removing lenses is a snap, still refining the insertion part. My right eye takes less than 2 minutes, but left eye 5 minutes.
