Title: Light-moderate protection, quicker to don than earplugs
Review: These earmuffs are super convenient for environments that occasionally have ongoing loud sounds.The earmuffs are surprisingly comfortable. That said, I have small ears and a small head.The metal parts connecting the muffs to the headband can be adjusted. You may need to make fit adjustments to get adequate protection.To test the fit, I rub my fingertips together close to my ear. If I can hear the rubbing sound almost as intensely with the earmuffs on as with them off, there is a sound leak, and the earmuffs need to be adjusted. If I don’t hear the rubbing (or hear it just at threshold), the fit is good.Another useful fit test is to listen to music. If you hear echoing, the fit needs to be adjusted.These earmuffs are good at reducing medium to high frequencies, so they work well for being around a lot of screaming. I can still understand speech if the speaker is articulating clearly and speaking at a moderate volume, but it can be tricky at times. They are less effective at reducing bass, but they help a little.If you plan to be in an extremely loud environment, I recommend wearing earplugs under the earmuffs.

Title: Effective ear protection at a very reasonable price
Review: I have been looking for effective but inexpensive ear protection that we can use at my gun club. When we have events that are open to the public we need enough safety equipment for everyone. I bought one of these earmuffs to test with my own shooting and find them to be comfortable on my fairly large ears and very effective at reducing the sound of my pistols up to 44 Magnum. That’s the loudest gun I personally shoot. We run youth events and I thought that the purple color would also be popular with the kids. I also like the way they fold up into a compact package because sometimes I have to stick 16 of them into it box when going to the club and it’s just easier to pack them up if they are small.
