Title: Great accessible item
Review: This talking label wand is a great, affordable alternative to other voice labeling systems that cost much more. It gets the job done and is very easy to use, especially for blind users. Recording and playing back labels is straightforward, and the audio is clear and reliable.I use this to label different items around the house, and it has been extremely helpful for organization and independence. The device itself works well and feels solid. One thing to note is that it does not come with batteries, so you will need to purchase those separately. There are a couple of limitations to be aware of. The washable labels meant for laundry do not stay on once they get wet and tend to fall off. Also, do not try to cut the long washable sticker labels into smaller pieces. I tried doing that to save some, but all the cut pieces ended up repeating the same recording instead of working independently. You can only use one label per recording strip.Despite those issues, I still highly recommend this product. It’s practical, accessible, and very useful for everyday labeling needs, especially for blind or visually impaired users looking for a cost-effective solution.

Title: Lack of instructions for laundry labels is totally unacceptable.
Review: I have an older pen friend voice labeler from RNIB. I have an older version of it and I had read on the reviews that the shipping for label refills was absolutely ridiculous. I wanted to order laundry labels which I’ve never bought before so I bought the current Reizen labeler because it came with tactile labels and laundry labels and I did not have to pay shipping. I have been using voice labels for a number of years and I’m very satisfied with that kind of system, however I am considering returning this Reizen labeler even though it is half the price. I am sure that the small tactile labels will work just fine, but the main reason I bought it was for the laundry labels. There are several things that I heartily dislike about this labeling system. First of all, there are absolutely no instructions about how to use the laundry labels. I have discovered one or two reviews after my box came that say that the laundry labels don’t even stay on the clothing. One lady said that she wrapped the labels around the care label instructions on the garment and that if she does that, they stay on. If I choose to keep the labeler, I may do that and see what happens. I don’t see why a product should come with no instructions whether it is half the price of the more established voice labeling system or not. RNIB actually put voice labels on the front of their product box so that when you take out their pin friend and turn it on, you can listen to how to use the pin by touching the voice labels on the box. I don’t see why this manufacturer cannot do the same same thing. Instead, they provide no instructions whatsoever.Another thing is that it doesn’t say which set of labels they sent me with the pin, set a, B, or C. I understand that newer versions of the pin won’t read older labels. I’m not sure if that is accurate or not, but if they are going to offer different versions of labels, they should at least tell me which set they sent me so that I will order the correct set when I buy refills.I’m going to have to do a little bit of research before I decide whether to keep this product or not, but I’m not satisfied with the quality of instructions and product information given at all. I have ordered a number of products from Maxi Aids over the years and I would expect better information than they provide with this product.Update: I am going to return this product and order braille garment label tags. I will either sew them on myself or get someone to sew them on for me. The voice laundry label would’ve held more information than a single word braille garment label, but I won’t have to worry about outdated technology or manufactured laundry labels that do not work. It’s back to low tech for me.

Title: perfect for gardening blind
Review: As a blind person and a gardener, this talking label reader has becomessential to expanding my independence. I pressed the included label stickers on plastic plant labels and had sighted help identifying each seed pack in my spring order. Now I have dozens of seedling trays in my grow room, each with a talking label. Once sealed against weather with a layer of clear tape, the plant labels will follow my seedlings out into my garden. The reader pen is simple to use, has a good quality of voice, and the included ear buds work fine. The tiny loop on the end of the reader; for a lanyard; is an inspired feature. Next, I will be labeling the shelf where I organize canned foods. I love that I can re-record each label as my needs change. And, yes. I will obviously be wanting to order additional sticker packs, because I keep finding ways to use this astoundingly helpful system.

Title: Really versatile use – Recipes – cannned goods – spices – instructions!
Review: My Mom cannot see well enough to read recipes anymore. I put several stickers on her favorite recipes – one for every few steps, and she can follow her recipes great using the talking wand. She is thrilled! (Tonight: Corn & Cheese Souffle!)Other uses – I laminated several sheets so we can reuse them on her cans (using stick-on magnets) and spices (using tape). We’ve also placed the stickers near things that need instructions about how they work. The recipes are in 1/2 sheet plastic sleeves, so we placed the stickers onto the outside of the sleeves. The recipes are still readable for others, inside the sleeves. (keepfiling dot com – mini recipe binder)Only con we have is every so often, after swiping a recorded label, the wand says “this label is available” and it takes another swipe or two with the wand to hear the message that we recorded for that label.Specific to Mom, her eyesight is getting poor enough, she cannot find the stickers if they’re not placed obviously. They do have bumps on them for that purpose, but she’s not practiced in feeling/finding them yet.Super product! (I purchased ours directly from MaxiAids, fyi)

Title: It works.
Review: My sister, who is partially blind, has received it and seems to love it, she even labeled the dog. If it helps her to live a more normal life, it’s worth every penny. One comment, the battery compartment, very tight, seems to be a potential weak spot.

Title: WOW – Sounds for the Sightless-
Review: Not something that the sightless can apply well but if a friend ( as I am) can use it to set up items – it is a game changer for my blind 90 year old friend!I can inventory his food pantry, label is medications and even use it on the food in his refrigerator and freezer so he can know what he has for meals and medications.I am sure there are other uses, but just these allow this 90 year old to continue to live alone ( his choice).
