Title: Great Phone. Better Than Expected.
Review: We live in an area prone to power outages, so a landline is a must. I’d wanted a new one for a while, saw this, and thought I’d try it.Yes, is plastic, but it’s a heavy plastic; many available now are much worse. Beyond that, this phone *looks* great. It’s similar to the old Slimline style, and doesn’t scream “cheap.” It’s’ also heavier than most of the newer ones that are so lightweight the base comes along with the cord when you pick up the handset lol. The ring volume has two settings and the lower is loud enough (for me). There’s also a flashing light when the phone rings. Buttons don’t stick and the numbers are large. The buttons also have a very nice a green backlight when you lift the handset (receiver). Nice!IMPORTANT NOTE: You might notice that when you lift the handset from the base, it appears to “stick” and doesn’t immediately release. That’s because this can also be mounted on the wall, and so the handset slips down *into a notch*–otherwise you wouldn’t be able to replace the handset on the base without it slipping right off. So, since I have ours on a table instead of mounted on a wall, I simply slide the handset up a bit (out of the notch) instead of immediately lifting it *up* off the base.Quality landlines are getting even harder to find. So if you need one, you probably won’t find one better than this.

Title: Great for the elderly.
Review: I bought this phone for my mother who has poor vision and decreased gross motor skills to be able to hang up the old junk phone in her room in the long term facility where she now resides. I just received the phone yesterday so haven’t yet had a chance to hook it up for her but I have absolutely no doubt it will make a positive world of difference for her.

Title: Stylish Retro Landline Phone with Loud Ringer & Reliable Emergency Backup
Review: ordered this Retro Corded Landline Phone in pink and it honestly brought back so many memories. I had a phone like this when I was a kid, and while this one is a little lighter weight than the original “back in the day” version, it still works really well and does exactly what it’s supposed to do.First off, I love that it doesn’t require any power outlet or batteries. It plugs directly into the phone line, which makes it perfect as a backup phone for emergencies. That was one of the main reasons I wanted it. If the power goes out, this will still work, and that’s something you just can’t say about most modern phones. The pink color is super cute and the retro design looks great whether it’s mounted on the wall or sitting on a desk. It definitely adds a fun vintage touch to a room. The buttons are large and easy to see, and they light up, which is really helpful. I can see this being great for seniors or anyone who needs bigger numbers. The ringer is LOUD (very loud), and there’s also a flashing light when a call comes in. You absolutely will not miss a call with this phone. The sound quality during calls is clear, and the adjustable handset volume is a nice feature.Like I mentioned, it is a bit lighter weight than the old-school phones I remember, but it still feels sturdy enough for everyday use.Pros:• No power or batteries required (great for emergencies)• Loud ringer with flashing light for incoming calls• Large, lighted buttons that are easy to see• Clear sound quality with adjustable volume• Can be wall-mounted or used on a desk• Cute retro design and colorCons:• Lighter weight than vintage phones from years ago• Ringer cannot be turned completely off (only high/low)Overall, this is a solid, reliable landline phone with a fun retro look. It’s simple to use, works as described, and makes a great backup phone for emergencies or a practical option for seniors. I’m very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone wanting a dependable corded phone with a nostalgic feel.

Title: Love the Compact Vintage-Looking Landline Phone
Review: Very good quality Trimline phone for use with a landline phone service. Phone requires no electricity or battery power. Setup is simple and quick, no tech involved. Attach the included curling cord to the handset jack and base cradle jack. Next attach the included clip-in line phone cord to the bottom of the base and plug the opposite end clip-in into your landline service’s wall phone jack. Phone unit needs no electricity or battery to operate – just requires an active landline service with a wall jack. Phone cord extends about 53 inches from the base of the phone. Phone can be used wall mounted or with the unit on a desk or table. Phone comes with the handset hanger in the upright vertical position needed for wall mounting. I like this hanger position for the desk mount option as well. Phone is easy to lift from hanger when needed and makes it less likely that my cats will knock the receiver off the base. You can swivel the hanger180 degrees to a horizontal position for desktop use (hanger recedes down, phone sits on base unattached). This model 5508 phone is designed for standard straight line bridged ringing, if your phone company uses a different ringing method you can still make and receive calls but the phone will not audibly ring. Phone ringer cannot be turned off but the ringer volume can be set to high or low with a labeled slider on the bottom of the base. Handset volume is adjustable as well using the hi-low switch below the high fidelity receiver that you hold against your ear. Unit has ability to redial last number called, press handset redial button. Phone will remember the last number called, to cancel memory of the last number you dialed just pick up receiver and push any number. When making an outgoing call, wait and make sure you hear a dial tone before dialing your number. I really like the sleek retro look of this shiny black phone. This Trimline style phone with audible ring, flashing red call light and large, easy to read number buttons is especially suited for senior adults. I like that it is a reliable and space-saving corded phone that works in a power failure unlike my cordless landline expandable phone system. Great backup phone for emergencies – more dependable than cell service. Large print instruction manual included with troubleshooting tops (same info is repeated on front, back and sides of the box). Great product for peace of mind, well made with clear quality sound, recommend.
