Review: Bought this phone for my father-in-law he had trouble hanging his other phone up. The receiver kept falling off. This has big numbers and the old style receiver holder. The only thing would be nice to see is a louder ringer. Other than that it’s perfect for him.

Title: Pretty good except for two things
Review: The phone has nice weight (I hate phones that are just light plastic), it was easy to install, it was preset for tone dialing (pushbutton)The downsides were that the ringing sort of growls instead of bell ringing. Maybe we will get used to it.The jack on the back, didn’t match a standard Bell/At&T wall phone plate but with the short cord supplied we were able to connect and it worked.Overall I think it will do. And for the price it is worth it.

Title: Avoid cheaply built phones assembled from scrap parts.
Review: This item was made from surplus phone parts. Poorly assembled and intermittent, I would avoid it. NOTE: It has a wrong socket in the rear that was modified to mount in a rectangular hole meant for a sliding mail plug that would access the wall mount. Internal solder connections were poor and intermittent. The handset “hanger” was not assembled properly.I needed the phone to work, so I reworked parts of it until I could purchase a new, guaranteed AT&T phone. BEWARE! This cheap phone is available under numerous brand names. Check the photos and be savvy. Either buy an old TELCOwall phone that has been tested OR get a new, guaranteed phone that can be returned to a store, replaced or repaired.

Title: Not working properly
Review: Very lightweight. Connection cord was too long for wall mounting so it’s bunched up and impacts hanging. I’m going to buy a shorter cord. It also pings if I pick up an extension phone to use. Works fine. I would have rated a 5 if it wasn’t for the inconvenience of finding and purchasing a shorter connecting cord. My old phone plugged directly in without a cord so I didn’t have an old one to use. UPDATE: Dropped rating to 3. The return window has closed, or I would send it back. It makes random pings, and today I had to unplug it because it started beeping like it was off the hook. I took it off and on 3 times before giving up.
