Review: This is a great gift for a young child. The flower petal design is clever to protect the quality lens, as well as charming. The box says, “gold plated”… so that’s not valid in any way, but I wasn’t expecting it, [nor did I keep the box.] I highly recommend. I gave one to my daughter and have 2 left to tie on birthday gifts.

Title: Does magnify, but only a little… more of a toy than anything
Review: I picked this up to review because my kids have a Mystery Solvers magnifying search book where we lost the magnifying glass …. so I thought this could be a great upgrade. It does magnify things, but I think I thought 10x magnification was going to be more. I like the handle, and the glass is a great size to actually look at things through. This would be a great tool for any outside adventurer.I also thought it was quite clever of the designer to have the “flower petals” be flexible silicone… because you know kids will get too close to things and bump into them. This creates a fun buffer of sorts to anything that could break the glass….. or being inevitably dropped during said adventure. I think it’ll find its way into our beach bag this summer – see what kids of cool things we can take a closer look at during a beach day!
