Title: It’s a loupe and not great for reading. Handle with care. Made in China.
Review: This is good loupe but the listing is misleading when they recommend it for reading. While you can use it for reading something short like a phone number, you would not want to read more than a few words with this. This magnifies a small area at a time.It may take getting used to if you are not familiar with a loupe. You need to hold it close to the object that you are examining. You have probably seen jewelers or pawnshop employees hold a loupe on their eye and an object right up against the loupe. Often their loupe has a handle, which this does not. I have not figured out how to get 30 times magnification with this Do not unscrew it or the glass will fall out.The instruction sheet cautions that this can magnify light and possibly cause a fire. You don’t want to leave it on flammable material in the sunlight.There is a little pouch that you can store this in or you can put it back in the box. Do not be fooled by the similarity of the Sanung brand name to a famous brand name.There was a sticker on the packing material that said this is made in China.

Title: Great loop
Review: This is great little loop with a nice bag to hold it. If you are looking for a decent loop at a great price this is for you. This is heavy, well made, and constructed to last. I’m not sure if it’s glass or plastic but the image quality is very sharp.

Title: Closer to 9x
Review: The actual magnification of this unit is closer to 9x than to 35x (see photos). It’s a very simple design, consisting of two simple DCX (double convex) lenses separated by a plastic spacer. There’s a good deal of color error and spherical error, and the field is very narrow and highly curved. It’s cheap, but for the same money you can buy a small classic 10x triplet magnifier that’s color corrected and provides a flat, high contrast image.
