Title: Brilliant Concept That Delivers
Review: I’ve been using this Scanmarker Max reading pen in a classroom setting for two months. To be honest, I’d heard this was a useful tool, but I didn’t think it would be as impressive as some collegues made it seem. Guess who was wrong? Spoiler alert: It wasn’t my colleagus.This is a surprisingly helpful modern tool for working through printed text. It scans quickly and correctly, and it reads aloud clearly. This pen absolutely makes it easier for someone experiencing difficulties to follow along with books, notes, or any other printed material without constantly having to stop and reassess. This is an invaluable tool in that respect.The portability of the pen is an ingenious design because (1) I feel like the pen shape is perfect for creating the same mind/eye connection that someone learning to read creates when they slide their finger along each line as they read and (2) it is a small, easy to store or easy set on a desk piece of technology. It is very unobtrusive.In the setting I am using it, the most useful feature is the text-to-speech function combined with language support. Flawless! Super well designed. The pronunciation feedback and phonics assistance? Someone with some experience and know how perfected those steps. They both help reinforce reading confidence and assist in the learning process.Scanning accuracy is reliably consistent, and audio output is clear and easy to hear.This is a fascinating piece of technology. If you are looking at this for yourself or from a support standpoint – either way – I encourage you to try it.

Title: A great tool for reading
Review: I do a lot of reading for work and often run into dense technical documents that take forever to get through. This digital highlighter is a total dream because it lets me scan lines of text and instantly sends them to my computer or phone. It saves me so much time since I don’t have to manually type out notes or quotes. The translation feature is also surprisingly accurate whenever I come across phrases in other languages. It fits right in my pocket and feels natural to hold, kind of like using a standard marker. I use it during long meetings to keep track of important points without losing focus on the speaker. It’s simple to set up and works exactly as described, making my daily workflow way more efficient.

Title: great support for dyslexia
Review: This reading pen is very easy to use and very helpful for dyslexic readers. It seems well made and has a touch screen allowing you to toggle the menus easily. It has many features allowing you to use it in multiple ways, including as a translator. It’s very quick and easy to use. You simply drag it over the text like you would with a highlighter pen and let it read to you. I really like that it reads the text that’s been scanned out loud and even provides pronunciations. You can even scan whole paragraphs with this thing. It has many other features that we really haven’t gotten into. But the main use of this item is to help support dyslexia. I do like that there are classroom features that allow this item to be used in class, freeing up staff from having to read the text out loud. Though we have not explored any options to use this item is school just yet. But I do think it’s a cool idea. It would be especially helpful for homeschooling too. I’m not sure we would ever use it in this way, but I think this item would be great for learning other languages too. I also think it’s great that you can use it online and offline, giving this item a lot of versatility.

Review: This device has some amazing features for language learners. It can support over 100 languages. It can work without internet connection. Connectivity using Bluetooth and a USB connection is avialable. The device can work with Mac, Windows, and Chromebook. The device can read printed text out loud in many languages. It can capture a full paragraph for translation and to be read aloud. The user can get help with pronunciation. It is simple to run the scanner across sentences for text to speech. The results are extremely accurate. The pen style scanner is small and easy to hold for children and adults. This scanner is ideal for any age student. As for teachers, the devices have a locking function to limit use during specific lessons or assessment. Every language student should have access to a device like this. A tool like this would maximize learning and provide the necessary assistance to students who learn in different and unique ways. It is beneficial to individualize learning. Parents, this is an amazing learning tool, not a toy. It would be a great gift that could assist a lifetime of learning. It’s an excellent value.

Title: Useful and well made
Review: This is a neat device, definitely high quality. Priced on the high side, there is no doubt the premium is related to the quality of the build in addition to the many features and functions this device boasts.Quickly and effortlessly will the scanning pen recognize text in almost any language you can scan – and translate it into your chosen language. I tried it on as many languages as I could find, and as near as I could tell it was accurate in it’s translation. I tried it on large and small text, and as long as the text fit within the tip’s plastic guide, the text was recognized. Connection to WiFi provides even more features.There is a minimal learning curve to get started, but after a little experimentation there is nothing to it. The menu is comprehensive and generally self explanatory. The battery life is more than enough to get you through a day – probably a week – unless you’re using it for 8 hours a day. Battery power retention was very good. Leaving it off for 30 days came back with less than a 5% loss.Bottom line: In the right circumstance, (diminishing eyesight as an example) this could be a total game changer. For others this can just be a very useful tool when traveling or needing to translate.
