Sonic’s Newest Menu Item Has Fans Asking ‘Is This Real?’

In the summer of 2024, Sonic introduced its Flavorista Favorites drink lineup, featuring some much-needed refreshing sips for the season, like Classic Cruiser with cherry vanilla cola and the bubbly Grape Escape with hints of lime. If you’ve been enjoying these drinks as much as us, you’re going to love Sonic’s newest menu addition.

Sonic is launching a brand-new slushy flavor to its fan-favorite Flavorista lineup and it’s a sweet and tangy concoction that we think will pair perfectly with say, that Bacon Deluxe Double Sonic Smasher we’ve been loving from the New Late Winter Menu—or just about anything from Sonic’s menu.

Sonic Launches New Strawberry Mangonada Slush

Sonic is teaming up with the chili-lime seasoning brand Tajín for its brand-new Strawberry Mangonada Slush. Inspired by the sweet and spicy Mexican mangonada made of mango, chamoy, and chili-lime, Sonic’s new slush offers similar flavors but with the addition of strawberry for a touch of sweetness that rounds out the beverage. The slush is topped with a pinch of Tajín, which gives this drink a nice little kick. 

The Strawberry Mangonada Slush will be available nationwide on March 3, starting at $2.99 for a medium-sized drink. However, if you’re a Sonic App user, you can try the drink as soon as Feb. 25 when you order exclusively through the restaurant’s app.

Since this new slush is only around for a limited time—or while supplies last—we’re thinking that getting your hands on it before everyone else is not a bad idea. If this doesn’t give thirsty fans the initiative to download the app, we don’t know what will.
