Title: A camera with rich features that SC3C is known for at a value price
Review: I own two other SV3C cameras, a baby monitor that’s great to monitor pets, room temperature / humidity and a SV3C outdoor camera with a spotlight that turns on when it captures motion. My wife had suggested adding a camera to a back porch to alert us if anyone should approach the back of the building. Since our two SV3C cameras have worked really well with easy-to-use features, even better than other cameras we have tried, we made a good decision adding another SV3C camera to our residence. Before I mounted this camera on the back porch, I decided to test it from a second floor out a window. I know many frown on using a camera through a window, but I find positioning it to see what it can do through a window at a distance to be a really good test. This camera performed very well with a clear picture of motion from a distance as seen in the clip I am attaching. I found the HD setting on this camera to provide excellent sharp video. When I finally mounted the camera outside on the back porch, It has worked flawlessly. I am attaching a second clip which shows person coming up the back stairs. My wife is relieved that we finally have security monitoring outback. This SV3C camera has even more features than the other two that we use. These features are described by others in detail and under the description by sellers. The CamHipro software with this camera is amazing. It allows a phenomenal amount of control of the camera. One of my favorite features is the “frame the recognition of the object,” but what really made this camera a keeper was how capable it is in Wi-Fi connectivity range to my Wi-Fi extender. Even though it is mounted quite a distance from my router’s extender, it has not failed to keep connected and provide video to my phone with alerts or viewing video from the microSD card I inserted in the camera. All in all, I have found this camera to be an excellent outdoor unit packed with rich features SV3C is known for at a value price.

Title: Superb outdoor security camera
Review: I have purchased and installed a number of SV3C security cameras at my house over the past several years. I have generally been very happy with the performance of their cameras. This new camera is no exception. Super easy to install and set up. Connected to my home wifi without a hitch. Wall bracket mount was very easy to install with just a couple of screws. Image and video quality is excellent — note this this is a 1080p resolution camera, not a 4K, so you won’t get 4K resolution but you’re also not paying for a 4K resolution camera. The camera’s auto tracking function works great when it spots a human — the camera will follow that human as he/she moves. I have this camera set up next to my garage, and it will follow me around while I’m walking around. This is just an all around great outdoor camera at a very very reasonable price point.

Title: practical and easy to install
Review: I bought this camera and it really exceeded my expectations. The colors are super sharp, and I also like that I can control it from my phone, which makes it much easier to keep an eye on my house. Installation was simple, so I recommend it.

Title: So Many Possibilities
Review: It might be that you already run a system of cheap PTZ cameras, and it might happen that one of those cameras is hit by a falling limb in a blizzard. You might be shopping for a replacement, and you might scan this listing and order a pair of these. It may thereby come to pass that when you unbox them, you are surprised to find USB power instead of a standard 2.1mm barrel plug. You might be disappointed in your own self, for failing to read the most basic information prior to hitting the “Add to Cart” button, and that might be a bad feeling. It’s a hypothetical scenario, but i felt it plausible enough to merit a warning. As i was typing that it also occurred to me that for some folks, these cameras may not work out of the box as per the instructions. You may follow the manual precisely and get repeated “failed to connect”. You might even, as prompted by the app, manually connect your phone to the camera AP and hear it make “success” noises but you never get wifi configuration and it STILL doesn’t work. After a few hours of doing the same things over and over because you’re sure you must be doing some bit wrong, you may be considering to put them back in the box and request a return.IDK, could happen.I think i’ve worked out the process for such eventuality…- The camera boots up (after reset) in AP mode. Without cable connection your router can’t see it but your phone, as a wireless client, can.- Connect phone to camera AP (IPCAM-XXXXXX) with password “01234567”.- Get camera IP# from phone’s connection info. (It’ll be the thing calling itself a “gateway”. For both my cameras the last octet defaulted to “88”.)- Browse to that IP on the phone, and login with credentials admin/admin.- NOW you get the camera interface and you can directly set up your wifi and change the administrative password etc. This is the part of the process the app kept failing. This procedure seems to clear up whatever the confusion is and now the camera can be added to the CamHi app as an existing entity. If you want to do. I don’t, because i worry about bouncing my home videos to Chinese servers on their way to my phone. It works entirely too easy and too well for my comfort. Once these cameras were on my network they added easily and gracefully to Agent DVR, which keeps everything local. They are in fact compatible with ONVIF and standard streaming protocols so you can do whatever you like. I’ve even got them connected to my AI server so they alert me to actual object-shaped things instead of snow, wind, or cats. They’re decent cameras for the price. When they are actually working.I’m just saying all this because it’s also possible that some folk are getting old and maybe they forget that phones have web browsers. So maybe they spend hours fussing with a recalcitrant app instead of just doing the straightforward thing. I mean, it’s a thing that could happen.—-Edit: to append that the cable is only about 9 feet long before terminating in aforementioned USB-A plug. So that’s the point at which it needs plugged in to the included wall wart, which depending on your installation is highly likely to be outdoors, possibly even exposed to the elements. I built a simple voltage converter to plug mine into the 12v system i already had, but that’s not an option for everyone and it still leaves the connection exposed to the elements. Considering all the corrosion i get on the barrel plugs on my other cameras, i expect a USB connection to be extra problematic. And i also expect most people do not want to put extension cords and wall warts out in the rain. Just another consideration i didn’t consider before.Edit to the Edit:It also could happen that six months after your purchase, your camera falls apart as pictured. The screw holding the pan motor to the main body, apparently in the process of turning this way and that, might possibly unscrew itself. Inside the unit, that screw is hidden under the tilt servo and the speaker, both of which appear to be securely and permanently glued to the chassis. With much patience you might could get to the screw and put it back in place. Or you might destroy your camera. Since a glimpse inside will inform you as to how truly cheesy these cameras really are, you might just hot-glue it back to the shaft and call it a day b/c your fix isn’t of any lesser quality than the manufacturing.Edit to the Edit of the Edit:I thought i’d exhausted the endless potential of this product, but no. It’s also possible that only eight months after your purchase, it lightly rains on your remaining camera and the thing goes into a bonkers bootloop which doesn’t resolve even with a reset. You may not be a wealthy person who can afford to treat your consumer electronics as disposable, so you might return to your review to express your disappointment. It likely won’t make any difference at all if you do.You might possibly end up pretty darned cynical as a result of purchases like this.

Review: Product delivered on time and picture quality is good. Easy to configure on my Android phone and more importantly for me, easy to configure on my Windows desktop running ISPY software.Running well so far and although my WiFi Hub disk is a bit of a distance away from the camera, hasn’t lost a connection yet.

Review: Update****26th April 2025Both of these cameras are no longer function. One has power and goes through the reset routine but I think the radio module has failed so there is no way to connect to the camera! The other went through a few days when it would reset itself for no reason and then eventually it also stopped working completely. I still have quite a few other cameras, many of which are much older all working. So it is difficult to recommend these cameras. I did reach out to SV3C support and they emailed and said reset the device, do a factory reset, download the manual and sent a link to a website that doesn’t actually have a manual for this camera. But I didn’t need it. So not great support.I have a number of IP cameras from different suppliers including Wansview, Wanscam, SV3C, Genbolt, Annke and D-Link. Some are quite old now so when SV3C offered me the chance of a discount if I reviewed this model for them, it was timely and I accepted their offer. This review is completely honest and has not been influenced by SV3C in anyway.First thing to point out is that you get two cameras. For £89.99 that is not a bad price, especially when these are outdoor cameras and IP65 rated. The cameras are smaller than you might expect. The overall height is 15cm (including aerials) or 6” and width is 10cm or 4”. The supplied power cable is just over 2 metres long. They come with a quick installation guide. You will need to install CamHipro on a mobile phone. Then use it to add the new camera(s). This is fairly straight forward. I know other reviewers have said they had it all set up in less than 1 minute. I was not so lucky. It is perhaps because I have a router with 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and I am unable to access the router to turn off the 5Ghz. But I got there in the end.I placed one camera quite a distance from the router and it connected to the WiFi no problem, so the wifi pick up seems to be good. The mobile App allows you to set up Cloud Storage and Sharing. You can also install an SD card and record to the SD card. Alarm on motion detection has quite a few options including sensitivity and you can set up a schedule of when the alarm will be triggered for motion. You can send the captured picture or video via email or use FTP to transfer it. I did not see an option to manage SD card storage (E.G. delete after 30 days) but this may be because I did not install an SD card. However, if you use FTP you can use this to manage SD card file deletion. You can use your own PVR as the camera provides a HTTP and an rtsp feed and very helpfully it is also ONVIF compliant. To access these settings you will need to use a PC based application. SV3C suggest you use HIP2P but there are others available and they will pick up the camera. The CamHipro will show you the IP address once the camera is connected so it is easy to find and then make adjustments to settings. The picture quality of the cameras, in colour, seems very good. I have tested full colour image whist placing the camera in the dark and the colour image is very good. InfraRed is also available, of course. For the price point these are very good cameras. There are a couple of things that could make them better.1. The cameras are powered via a USB cable with a Type C connector to the supplied plug. These are of a similar design to many mobile phones. For an outside cable this is probably not best. The plug goes into a 3 pin socket and stands some 2” proud of the socket. If you happened to have a convenient outdoor socket (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Outdoor-Waterproof-Weatherproof-Electrical-Switched/dp/B09TDJF6J1/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=outdoor+socket&qid=1678701433&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1) you will not be able to close the cover and therefore it will not be waterproof. You might be able to change the sockets to one like this so that you do not need to use the supplied plug. (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lighting-Legends-Waterproof-Outdoor-Double/dp/B0BH54JZBZ/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2AL393BLCX7FV&keywords=smart+twin+socket+with+usb+wifi&qid=1678701629&sprefix=smart+twin+socket+with+usb+wifi%2Caps%2C71&sr=8-6) These also have a WiFi socket which would allow you to On/Off the camera to reboot it, which could be useful if you have it installed up high.2. As outdoor cameras you may want to install them high on a wall and/or away from the house. If you are doing this it would be useful to have some indicator (light) on the camera that shows you if you have a good enough wifi connection in the position you want to fix it, before you drill holes, etc. You could of course just get someone to look at the image via the app on a phone to confirm they are receiving live video, so not a show stopper. Finally, the package includes rawl plugs, screws and a tool to push into the camera to reset it (which you have to do on first install). I only found this after I had set the cameras up. And, if this is your first time setting up a outdoor camera, get it all working inside the house before you install it outside.
