Title: TAI CHI FOR SENIORS – A Book Worth Spending Time With
Review: Excellent book – better than expected. The author is very experienced and gives a satisfying depiction of the arts of Tai Chi and Chi Kung and how they can be used to help seniors gain improved health and mobility. This book is not a quick, shallow how-to but rather a rich, rewarding instruction that conveys the ideals and essence of an ancient art that it, and the reader, well deserve.

Title: EXCELLANT!!!
Review: I HAD PURCHASED A PREVIOUS COPY BUT WAS LOST IN NATURAL DISASTER IN 2019. SIFU PHILIP BONIFONTE’S VERSION OF TAI CHI FOR SENIORS IS WONDERFUL! I’VE USED IT AS A GUIDE FOR SENIOR CENTER PROGRAMS IN MY RURAL AREA WHERE WE DO NOT HAVE ANY TAI CHI STUDIOS, I HAS HELPED ME UNDERSTAND THE BASICS & ADVANCED TAI CHI, GAINING ALL THAT IS PROMISED IN THE BOOK TITLE. I ONLY WISH IT CAME WITH A DVD FOR FOLKS LIKE ME WHO ARE MORE VISUAL LEARNERS.

Title: An interesting and informative introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong.
Review: I have been into numerous martial arts (Judo, Jujutsu, and Karate-Do) and weapons (Kenjutsu, Wakizashi Jutsu, and Tanto-Jutsu) systems over the years. I have also studied Tai Chi and Qigong for many years with Sifu Laurie Manning earning my teaching certificate.About six years ago I as diagnosed with a fairly rare neurological condition and had to practice my Tai Chi and Qigong from a seated position. I have been teaching my seated Tai-Chi/Qigong course to seniors for quite a while. I picked up this book (Tai Chi for seniors: How to gain flexibility, strength, and inner peace by Sifu Philip Bonifonte) at a bargain price and found it to be a good introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong. This large paperback book is organized into three parts with 12 chapters. Part one: living in the past: covers what is Tai Chi, the benefits of practicing Tai Chi, a brief explanation of Qigong exercises and preparing to practice Tai Chi. The second part: Living in the past: focuses on warm up exercises, Qigong exercises, standing Tai Chi exercises and seated adaptations of Tai Chi and Qigong. The third part: Living in the future explains how to do meditation exercises, the philosophy (Taoism) of Tai Chi. The conclusion explains that in Tai Chi and Qigong there are no belts like other martial arts.In conclusion, this book has some helpful information; however, the photographs were not always clear and without a Sifu (teacher) it would difficult for anyone, not just seniors, to follow the material. Using this book in combination with a hands-on approach with a teacher is the best way to actually learn Tai Chi and Qigong.Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Title: Wow!
Review: This book is fantastic. I purchased this because I have serious degenerative arthritis in just about every joint. Tai Chi is the best way to realign your body, this info was from arthritis specialists, pain management specialists and the most remarkable physical therapist I’ve every had the honor to know. He took to the book and it’s teachings so much that I made a gift of it to him. He applies these methods to just about every patient he helps. Now, I’ve got to buy me another one!

Title: Perfect for older women!
Review: I bought this Tai Chi DVD for my 87 year old mother. She has been using it for about 2 years now. It has helped her to lower her blood pressure and she has improved her balance. She really enjoys this DVD. I bought her another one for a change of pace, but she liked this one best. She NEVER uses the other one. She uses this one almost every day.

Title: Yak Yak Yak!
Review: Holy crap, I got through half the book of overexplaination before I even found one exercse. I’m 64, in so-so health, and thought I’d die of old age before I found something useful. The book is helpful, but for an old fart like me there is far too much talk in the beginning. Don’t explain so much. Just get into some helpful stretching exercise we can do while we read further. Someone my age really dosen’t care about the history as much as the helpful exercises. Trim it down to exercises and leave out your knowledge of the history. I wasn’t impressed. Thom

Review: I bought this for my mother so I haven’t read it and it may be good, but at a glance it has cheap looking, grainy black and white pictures inside and LOTS of text. It also sells for £14.39 and had a £12.99 sticker on the back…..If you’re going to overcharge, then at least have the brains to remove the price sticker.
