Title: It’s always there for me when I need it!
Review: I purchased this light (the emergency-light-only variant) to install in my windowless garage because I have been caught too many times in the dark, unable to find my way to the door, when the power fails. I researched several models before choosing this one, and one of its major selling points was the use of a generic sealed lead-acid (SLA) battery. Some other models use oddly-shaped battery packs with differing plugs, making replacement a bit more challenging. The 6-Volt SLA battery is readily available in many home improvement stores, making it very much user-serviceable.I paired this unit with a single Lithonia outdoor remote LED head (also here on Amazon) which I installed on the outside of the garage over the “people door.”Installation for me was quite simple. If you’re handy with basic tools and know how to wire 110-volt objects safely and properly, it will be a breeze for you. If not, consult someone who has these skills. The two LED lights on top can be rotated and aimed to direct light where you need it most. You can probably read a book semi-comfortably with the light output, and it definitely puts out enough light to maneuver safely through your space – which is pretty much the entire point of having emergency lighting.I’ve never given this light a full run, but I can say that it will run over three hours – even with the remote head connected – with only a slight dimming after two hours. Being LED, runtime is far better than the old-fashioned incandescent models. The exterior casing is durable and well-painted. It can be cleaned easily with a damp cloth. The indicator LEDs on the left side will let you know if line voltage is present and whether or not the unit is charging the battery, and the test button is easy to operate. Opening the unit requires a Phillips screwdriver, and while the door is hinged, it can also be removed for better access. The bracket that holds the battery in place is slightly annoying, as one screw is a little tough to access, but battery replacement is otherwise fairly straightforward – given how infrequently a battery would fail, it’s a minor inconvenience.Overall, I’m pleased with its performance, and the few times it’s been needed, I’ve been so thankful that I invested the money. I’d recommend this emergency light to anyone who needs that measure of safety in their homes, garages, “man caves,” and “she sheds.”

Title: Will buy again!
Review: This is a pretty high quality emergency light. I was running 4 remote heads with this and they were plenty bright. Much cheaper than I found anywhere else. Installed about as easy as any other, nothing special there. It was a little more compact than the old one I was replacing. Worked great!

Title: Amazing, Fantastic and Wonderful TANLUX Steel Housing Emergency Light
Review: I am very impressed with this TANLUX Steel Housing Emergency Light — so very impressed that after I purchased one, I bought another one! When it is on, the LED heads are extremely bright and illuminate a really large area. This emergency light is the real deal and not some cheap plastic dim thing that you can buy for around twenty bucks. It is a true emergency light like you’d find in commercial and manufacturing establishments, yet I bought them for home use. When back-up battery replacement becomes necessary after many years of use, you will find that the type of sealed lead acid (SLA) battery that it comes with is cheap and literally available anywhere. You won’t regret spending the few extra dollars for this kind of exceptional high quality steel housing very bright LED emergency light at this remarkably crazy low price that will probably last you for many many decades to come. If your utility power fails due to storms or another reason, you can count on this bright emergency light to reliably guide your way with ease and turn the darkness into light. I don’t normally leave a review for anything but at the same time, I like to give credit where credit is due and this impressive TANLUX Steel Housing Emergency Light deserves 5 stars for a well-deserved best possible review. And thank you Amazon!

Title: NECESSARY GEAR IN SHTF or WROL
Review: This light has been running great for months now. It automatically comes on when the power gors out. I have mine lighting up my storage room so I can get to food and emergency supplies when the grid goes down. Its rated for 90 minutes but it still puts out usable light for upwards of 5 or 6 hours. Highly remommended.

Review: Product exceeded expectations. The steel case is solid and appears well built to last. The unit came ready to be hard-wired, I opted to add in the plug as shown. The lights are bright and last on the battery for at least the 4 hours we tested them. I would recommend and will not hesitate to purchase additional units.

Review: Works like a charm in a commercial setting. Nice heavy duty case with some heft to it. Common lead acid replaceable battery, not some proprietary crap that you’ll have to deal with a year or two down the road. This is the real deal. Buy it and have no regrets. Yes, I paid a bit more (but not exorbitantly so) but if you value your life and safety, this is really not an item to cheap out on. Buy it — you’ll be glad you did. It’s fairly easy to install if you have a hint of DIY ability. If you don’t you’ll need to hire a decent electrician and they will install this but they won’t touch the normal plastic crap you usually find online. Buy this; you’ll thank me for this. BTW, it’s CSA approved.

Review: Replacement for an expensive Edwards Emergilite at a fraction of the cost. Battery lasted over 3 days. Connected to two exit sign middle lights and worked despite being just 6 volts available on the acessorry wires. Even the wall mounting holes matched where Edwards model was installed. Description of corded means it needs to be wired, not that it comes with a standard 3-pronged wire.
