B0C1R52V2J,

A pantheon of forgotten gods. An old grudge between a talk show host, an heiress, and the man they shattered along the way. A rapidly deteriorating AI system. An inconvenient tiara upon the head of a friend.

It is bedlam on the eighth floor.

As management reels from the unexpected conclusion of the seventh level, the surviving crawlers stumble onto the eighth and find themselves scattered. It’s a map based on Earth’s final days before the collapse, where ethereal, intangible ghosts of humanity go about their lives, oblivious of the impending doom. Living amongst these ghosts are…

Title: Just keeps getting better
Review: 4.5/5 starsThe Eye of the Bedlam Bride is the 6th book in the LitRPG series Dungeon Crawler Carl. It’s the 8th floor and it’s a twisted card-based game. Carl and Princess Donut must capture six monsters into card that they will use to fight others to get to the next level. (It’s like the Pokemon Trading Card Game if you had to capture the Pokemon yourself first.) But some monsters have their own agenda and the Bedlam Bride herself Shi Maria has her eyes on Carl. This was another fantastic entry to the series. I thought the card-based system this level would be a let down after the bombastic previous levels. I think I was right at points, but what it delivered instead was just so much emotions. With a less involved game mechanism this time around, it allowed for more storytelling and the few plotlines—both the over-arching ones and ones isolated here—really shined in its depth and feels. I teared up several times. Don’t get me wrong though. The book is ridiculously over-the-top and jam-packed with action and its characteristic humor. There’s just way more heart as well. The Eye of the Bedlam Bride continues the streak of each subsequent Dungeon Crawler Book being better than the last.

Title: FANTASTIC!!!!
Review: When is book 7! I need it immediately!Ok. So I wasn’t too sure how I felt about going into the “memory” phases. Being back “on earth” definitely gave this book a different vibe. Especially in the beginning. I’m a visual reader so I picture everything I’m reading. And I cpjld feel the Havana heat on my skin (very well written) but then the fantasy side of the dungeon creeps in and it felt… odd. But only for a few pages then it found its rythm and felt normal which… I don’t even know how to feel about that lolKatia’s secret problem while enlightening into her past alittle but, I hate that’s where she’s at and I know what has to happen now to release her from it and I know it’s NOT going to be pleasant. I cried reading this book… which surprised me a bit.Samantha has really “fleshed” out quite a bit and I’m really loving her as a character. There’s alot of rewards and such happening with Carl and Donut and and I really did feel like there wasn’t a whole lot of focus on that this book, partly because of the AI being what it is now but it felt like they were just tooooo busy to make much use of what they were getting. So when Spider chip took over for a few and got into Carl’s inventory…. I actually felt like it rushed to give a reason for Carl to make sense of his inventory better. Like… she’s not going to be a major part of him Maki the most of it. And honestly I’m not mad at it. I think she’s an interesting characterNow the AI… His whole arc is awesome. I’m loving it. I do miss his funnier achievements and rewards descriptions. Him becoming self aware, seems to have dulled his sense of humor but considering what all he just discovered…. I wpuldnt have much of one either I supose. I do enjoy seeing him actually enjoy his new found powers though. Almost like a toddler that just discovered he came juggle chainsaws.Ok so there’s sooooo much happening in this boom. Like so so much. I could talk for days about this book and years about this series and I only started reading it less than a month ago and I’ve FLOWN through them and done a reread 3 times. That being said….This ending is incredible and has me going bananas for the next one. I wasn’t sure where this one was gonna go but now I’m losing it like an addiction for the next because the set up was perfect. Now I know EXACTLY who and what the waste management sponsor and team and ship is… I’m losing it 🤣👏👏 hands down the best damn surprise everAnd I feel foolish that I hadn’t figured it out (because I’m reeeeally good at that) but that’s what makes u such an amazing writer. You pack so much in with just enough happening to keep you both highly engaged in the storyline and distracted just enough to miss the clues. Because they were there. Dusted through out. And I missed it all the way to the last few paragraphs and my body exploded in goosebumps and I swore loudly lolMatt, I don’t know if you read these but you’ve made this frustrating part of my life so much easier to get through. I’m recently disabled and we have no idea why and I stare at the same 4 walls day in and out. I’m a very actively lively person and I loved my life and enjoyed living life and now I’m trapped in a bed 24/7 since Feb. And I’m alone mostly. These books have kept me going, given me hope and I relate to them.more than I care to admit. I refuse to let myself think “this is my life now” , I keep telling myself I’ll figure it the hell out and I’ll be back on my feet. And hopefully that’s true. But thankfully, for now at leaselt, I don’t feel so trapped here. I get to explore this terrifying and amazing world in the dungeon with amazing friends and family In the characters you’ve created. So thanks for giving me these guys, they keep me going.. I just need more of them asap lol so get to writing and I’ll be ready for the next one soon as it hits! And I promise I won’t kill your mother if it takes too long lol-Bethany

Title: More dungeon crawler goodness! One flaw has popped up for me though
Review: I really enjoy these books. I really really do! This is only my second review for the series and I do plan to go back and review the other ones when I reread them. And I will be rereading them. I think that the story and the characters are worth it. But one flaw has been bugging me since nearly the beginning of the series and I think it was actually a little bit worse in this book than the prior ones. It’s not the writing itself, which is in need of some editing, but which services the story well overall. It’s that I get the feeling that Matt doesn’t trust that the audience will remember character names, events, or spells from one chapter to the next. It seems like he reminds us about events that happened only a couple of chapters back, and treats us like we have such short attention spans that we couldn’t possibly remember those events. Personally I would rather not be reminded in such great detail about the specifics of events if those events happen in the same book.To be clear, I have no problem with recalling events from prior books, though I do think that there are more compelling ways to do so, especially since there are announcers and system messages which could remind Carl and the audience about things in a believable in-universe way without it feeling like Carl is telling us himself because we’re too dumb to remember. In fact, I would like to see him lean more on the recap episodes at the beginning of each floor or book to remind us of the highlights, which I believe he’s done one time now. Personally I find that this kind of exposition is better done conversationally then it is from a first person narrators memory directly to the reader.I’m rambling, and I think you all get the picture. Tosummarize, I really like the book series but I think it could use some polishing in terms of editing, in particular the reminders of events from only a few chapters back. Having an editor tighten up some of the reused words within a paragraph would also be a really good idea for Matt and wouldn’t need to affect the pace with which he writes but which could potentially add value to the book itself. And I’m not just saying that because I secretly hope that Matt will ask me to read his books early to review and edit them, thus giving me access to more dungeon crawler goodness before any of you plebs! ^_^Good work Mr. Dinniman!

Review: Pretty damn amazing. Not going to lie, thought this was going to be a throw away floor, especially after the last one. But it was really well done.Love the book. Only thing to complain about is the name. The bedlam bride wasn’t as involved as the name of the book made me think she would be. I know that she is being used as a setup for future floors, but it still felt kind of lacking to me.
