Title: Hesitant, but turns out best decision made!!
Review: I have read all the 1 reviews and was a little scared to try this but I can tell you after about an hour of use, I am more than satisfied with this product! It was very easy to assemble, great packaging, instructions are clear, concise and it’s not just a single sheet. It’s a nice booklet that has step by step instructions with photos and text for every step. The screen is more than large enough but I will attempt later to connect to a TV with included HDMI cable. I bought it as you can see in the photos for watch repair and coins. The magnification is perfect. Able to zoom and still work on watch because the height of the adjustment pole is perfect. I have no issues with anything and resolution is awesome.A couple of notes. I kept touching power and it would not come on. I hit reset button and still wouldn’t come on. I was getting very nervous. I thought it may have to be charged first but one thing the directions did fail to say is to press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn on and off. I did not see any issues with build quality. Everything was working properly. I also thought it may only be able to be used on battery and not plugged in. Not true, you can fully use it plugged in or unplugged after charged up. Also once you zoom in and sharpen the camera, you can use the remote to get an extra 18x zoom with the remote only. I was super happy about that. I have not used video or camera yet but you can disassemble a watch and have video and sound as you do it.I will not attempt to connect to a computer because you have to download software to use it which is not wise. 10.1” screen is big enough or use HDMI and a TV but stay away from unknown software download. So unless something changes later and if you want to use this for watch repair or coins, I couldn’t recommend it enough!! Go for it, you won’t be sorry as long as everything works out of box. If not, free returns! It is worth the money for what you get and what it does.

Title: Such a handy device! Why spend more?
Review: Assembly takes a few minutes, the stand is sturdy and frequently used adjustments are easy to make.Dual light sources are handy, it’s really 3 points of illumination because the lower 2 are independently adjustable, plus with room lighting there are 4 or more angles of illumination. The optional shade is a must.Magnification is adequate, plus it’s pretty easy to lower the camera to get closer. The photo resolution of 1080 is the only setting we have used, once the lighting is adjusted correctly the image on the screen is spectacular. The focus is easy and sharp with good depth of field. There is also video capability. As a stand alone unit, the battery in the screen lasts over an hour, and the battery in the base lasts even longer. You’ll need a standard 2 port USB /AC adapter for charging and all-day use, that adapter isn’t included. You may also plug the 2 USB cables into a PC or laptop, and plugging the screen into another device gives you different options such as to use the device for mass storage or to use the camera/video app on the device. If that’s your only power source you’ll need to use 2 USB ports on your PC or laptop. The supplied cables are way too short for any sort of plug into the wall type installation. We’ll probably order a couple of 10 foot USB cables and wrap them, for us that will be easier than fooling with an extension cord.Aside from the cabling concerns there aren’t any other significant negatives with this product. Why spend more?

Title: Great for Coin Detail, But Not Without Limitations
Review: As a coin collector focused on diagnostics and preservation, I picked up the Tomlov DM9 Max hoping for a solid digital scope to capture fine details. For smaller coins like Lincoln cents, Jefferson nickels, and Roosevelt dimes, it performs beautifully—sharp resolution, easy magnification control, and decent lighting. It’s especially handy for spotting die cracks, RPMs, and surface anomalies. However, the limited diameter of the viewing area becomes a challenge with larger coins. If you want full images of silver dollars or commemoratives, you’ll need to take multiple shots and stitch them together manually. That’s fine for documentation, but it adds time and complexity to the workflow. Also, the scope’s stability is suspect. The stand feels a bit flimsy, and any bump or adjustment throws off the focus. I’ve had to recalibrate more often than I’d like, which risks dropping coins mid-adjustment and slows down the process.Overall, it’s a great tool for hobbyists working with smaller pieces, and I use it regularly for cent diagnostics. I dropped a star for the stability and limited field of view—but it’s still a solid choice for entry-level or mid-tier coin work.

Title: Love it!
Review: I am legally blind and this device is a game changer and no legally blind does not mean totally blind. This digital microscope is perfect for me. It is well made and a great value. The battery actually lasts longer than the manufacturer states, they say 2-3 hours and I get around 4+ hours on battery power. It works really well and even the small lights that people have fussed about in reviews I read work well. I have no issues with getting them to shine right where SI want them and they stay out. Being able to use my 65 inch television as the monitor is a big plus for me with my vision issues. I had stopped repairing cellphones, computers and other small electronics due to my vision loss but with this microscope I am back doing what I love to do, helping people by fixing their items for them for just the cost of the parts.
