In the penultimate episode of my valentines series on how to bake diy valentines gifts I will be showing you how to make a heart shaped Bakewell tart. These are quite robist tarts and would be suitable for transport if you were planning on baking your own diy valentines gift for him or a diy valentines gift for her.
Bakewell tart is a classic frangipane tart with a jam base, usually raspberry all though I have made these previously with an array of homemade jams, fig being a particularly good combination
The heart shaped tartlets are readily available to but all though you can easily use a regular round tartlet or even bake a 12 inch tart and slice into wedges, you would need to triple the frangipane recipe for that though.
