Title: Works good right now
Review: Got it for my mother and she loves it, although when I got it, I took out of the box, so I could charge it and learn about it because she has really bad eye sight and I knew she would lots of question. so I got it ready for her and everything worked great. I took over to her and she really liked it for about a two hours and then it wouldn’t turn. I don’t know what happen I had turned it on several times myself and with her also, so I went back over thinking she wasn’t doing something right. but she wasn’t, so I took the battery out and reinstalled it, It’s worked over three weeks now, hopefully the battery just wasn’t making good contact the first time, It really seems like a good product and I hope it continues to work for her.

Title: Best buy for me
Review: After seeing other electronic nagnifiers at my low vision doctor’s office, I checked Amazon and found this product with the same functions for about 1/3 the price. Now I can get through my mail, pay my billls and read recipe directions so much easier. I have found it helpful in resetting my microwave clock, setting my thermostat and a number of other things which were difficult for me to read. I am super satisfied with the product and with the seller who called to clarify my order.

Review: This Product is good for the price however if you are having serious vision problem I suggest you check out the products from “Enhanced Vision” You can get a machine like this but way better. Plus they have a machine that will read to you. Finally I can stop buying vision aids! Enhanced Vision will come to your home and you can see and use the actual product.

Title: Works well. Very happy
Review: I purchased this for my Mom who has macular degeneration. It works well but she has a little difficultly using it. She is 86 however so technology can be challenging. That being said she can read with this device and is thrilled with it. She was using a large magnifying glass with a 5X small magnifier embedded and she was using that. The fact that it doesn’t save the settings you set doesn’t really matter as it is easy enough to change. I highly recommend this product. Remember that it starts at 5X so if your eyesight doesn’t require such a high magnification you may want to choose another model that start at 2X.

Title: Take it from me, this thing is great!
Review: I have 20/400 vision due to a fantastically rare form of macular degeneration (rod cone dystrophy) so these magnifiers are part of my everyday life. Though I am legally blind I am a fully licensed insurance agent and I also do a TON of technology based work (like I just built an Elastix server and deployed it for a local small business). Obviously I need to read quite a bit and I need to see which bits of CAT 5 I am punching down or find those tiny motherboard headers when I’m putting a machine together. My Pebble (that I’ve had for years now) has stopped charging and I’m guessing it has a short in it since batteries only last about 5 minutes in it these days. I finally decided it’s time to spend another ton f money on a new magnifier and was thinking I’d shell out at least $500 to replace my old unit. I was VERY skeptical about this device, frequently people take junk and sell it as something that might help blind/low vision folks like myself. The reviews seemed pretty solid so I figured I’d give it a shot and see what happened. Here’s what this guy has that my $600 Pebble did not:1. Video Out – Soooo I don’t need a separate unit that costs thousands of dollars to get it to a larger screen anymore…? AWESOME!!!2. A larger screen – My Pebble was only 3.5″ so I get more viewing area!3. LI rechargeable battery – seriously Pebble, the whole using rechargeable AA batteries is janky at best.4. Rubberized grips where I likely will always grab and hold it5. A MUCH cooler look, that’s a big deal actually, at least to me LoL.Here’s what the Pebble has this does not:1. Retractable handle – Which I really didn’t use much anymore anyways LoL.Now I have used assistive technology for over a decade, I am even a beta tester for several low vision software solutions as well as the ONLY trainer for a specific one on my side of the Mississippi. I do not give my opinion lightly when it comes to things that are literally tools to put food on the table for my four kids, two puppies and one cat. This little unit gets a rock solid two thumbs up and 5 gold stars from me. I highly recommend this for anyone who has a hard time seeing things. If for no other reason you can get 3 of these with next day shipping for the price f 1 Pebble using uber slow shipping!

Title: Not usable without being pluged in to walk socket.
Review: I brought this product on the great reviews for my elderly grandmother. The magnifier only works when plugged in, I am guessing their must be something wrong with the internal battery. She cannot have it plugged in to the wall as we need to avoid tripping hazards.I would really appreciate a reply so this can be rectified as it’s not a cheap product.Would be amazing if it worked. Thanks

Title: This serves me well!
Review: I have low vision. This magnifier is very helpful and easy to use. A little heavier than I like in my purse, but it does not make noise as my previous magnifier did.

Title: Disappointing application opportunities
Review: Interesting design! The device seems to be designed to read/magnifier for documents. It does not work well for reading a pill bottle.Reading with the device will be a slow and laborious like process. With the levels of magnification it could be handy for looking at something and then only if it fits under the device since it seems to lack automatic focus. How practice is the device? For spotting, somewhat; for reading not for me!I expected the device similar to the “eye loview” unit. On the positive side, if you have a monitor that can accept serial signal input, it can serve as an emergency replacement for a CCTV.For about the same price, a used CCTV will magnify to about 60X, do more colors and handle items maybe 4-5 inches thick, or if you are like me, looking at things including containers. For the money, I would use one of those smart phones, take a picture of what I want to read and let it read it to me.Save your eyes for sun rises, sunsets and beautiful women or a handsome man!
