Title: Tiny lighted magnifier thingy
Review: It’s debatable, I suppose, but to me, this is not, strictly speaking, a loupe. It’s a gizmo with three different loupe-like magnifying lenses, of different strengths, and it includes a little teeny battery-powered light, all in a case that you can pop into your pocket, so it’s really pretty handy, and it’s cheap. A jeweler’s loupe would have a tubular plastic holder that you can squash into your eye socket like a monacle, and that has the advantage of creating darkness around your eye which makes whatever you’re looking at easier to see through the lens of the loupe, while also allowing you to have both hands free to work on what you’re looking at. This item doesn’t do that. It’s also a bit hard to figure out how to get this doohickey up close enough to your eye to make it effective for examining tiny stuff (or, at least, it was for me) but once you get the hang of it, the fact that it’s pocket-sized, self-contained and lighted does make it pretty handy to have. You won’t be able to have both hands free *and* see up close as you’d be able to do with a traditional jeweler’s loupe, but it’s not a bad tool for what it is.Finally, Amazon wants us to rate this item for “sheerness.” A minute ago, they wanted me to evaluate a set of watch tools for “thickness.” I’m convinced that a significant subset of the people at Amazon who program the review pages actually have no idea what the items they’re working on really are or do.

Review: The compact magnifier loupe was a nice size and fit in any pocket, but it had a difficult to open battery case. The loupe worked best when the sliding cover was removed.

Review: Bought a few of them! Put in purse if you can read something good! Sturdy and again great bday gift Christmas or they are just good to have for looking for something in your purse and dark out and hubby or friend is driving it won’t effect their eyes.

Title: Purchased Twice! Love This Magnifier
Review: I’ve purchased these as stocking stuffers twice-they didn’t break, just got lost. My kids are obsessed with rocks/gems and these were a hit not once, but twice. The first time, I didn’t buy them for our adult children, but did the second time. Great for looking at rocks and jewelry, or even a splinter. I love that they slide to close, are easy to take along and the battery has lasted a long time.

Review: The higher magnifications are just too small to use efficiently, once found the area needed is seen but you cannot search for it very well but for the price you’ll do ok. The main magnifier works well as does the light. Small and light weight for your pocket etc. Good for coin variants.
