Winter Olympics Cortina 2026 travel guide meets Dolomites ski trip in one epic, last-minute adventure! We were already planning to ski in the Dolomites when we realized we could squeeze in a day at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics – so we booked a spontaneous trip to Cortina d’Ampezzo and it turned into one of the most magical winter days.

Staying about 10 miles outside Cortina, we drove the most breathtaking scenic route through the Dolomites to a super convenient park and ride location that whisked us into the center of Cortina in just 15 minutes.

We paid €45 per person for our curling event tickets — and the seats were fantastic with a clear, excellent view of all the action on the ice. For a Winter Olympics experience in the Dolomites, we were honestly impressed with the value.

If you’re thinking about how to visit the Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics or combine a Dolomites ski holiday with an Olympic experience, this video walks you through exactly how we did it – from the town we stayed at, how we got into town, and what it was really like on the ground during the games.

Once in Cortina, we headed straight to the Olympic venue to watch a mixed round robin curling event – and it was such a fun, energetic atmosphere. After the match, we hunted down a quick bite to eat, treated ourselves to delicious cake and coffee, and then warmed up with a classic Italian bombardino (HIGHLY recommend!) before heading back toward our hotel.

On the return journey, the Dolomites mountains lit up in the late afternoon light and the views were unreal – easily one of those “is this even real life?” moments. If you’re on the fence about visiting Cortina during the Winter Olympics or wondering whether a day trip like this is worth it… don’t skip it.

This is your sign to start planning.
