WHO is Princess Cruise Line For?

0:24 | around in your state room or on the pool

0:51 | I have to say after my weeklong cruise

0:53 | about aboard Sky princess I absolutely

0:56 | loved it but is it right for you before

0:59 | I talk about who I think the ideal

1:03 | traveler is for Princess Cruise Line I

1:05 | wanted to talk about just a few of the

1:07 | pros and cons that we’ve noticed

1:10 | especially compared to Royal Caribbean

1:12 | and virgin voyages the other two Cruise

1:14 | Lines we’ve cruised with first up let’s

1:17 | start with the pros we really liked The

1:21 | Medallion that you get instead of a card

1:26 | um this unlocks the door it smells you

1:29 | comeing and it unlocks the door before

1:31 | you get there you can pay for things

1:34 | with this um it also has like a RFID

1:38 | chip in it so if you order some room

1:40 | service or something to be brought to

1:42 | you they can find you with the chip and

1:44 | bring it to you um and that’s just

1:46 | really

1:47 | convenient um this also tells you where

1:50 | other members of your travel party are

1:52 | so if you’re trying to meet up or find

1:54 | each other like if you have kids or

1:55 | you’re looking for Grandma and Grandpa

1:57 | you can find them by tracking their

1:59 | medallions as well which is a nice

2:02 | feature I’ve had good service on every

2:05 | Cruise Line I’ve been on I’ve always

2:07 | thought the crew was always super

2:09 | helpful and kind went above and beyond

2:11 | but some of the amenities I really like

2:13 | on this Cruise Line are that you can get

2:15 | complimentary robes brought to your room

2:17 | by your state room attendant we also

2:19 | have been getting complimentary ice

2:21 | buckets every day to a room since we do

2:23 | a lot of hanging out in our room we

2:25 | drink ice water we like ice on our

2:27 | drinks so we’ve had a bucket of ice all

2:29 | the time time and I really like that

2:31 | you’re treated as an adult on this

2:33 | Cruise Line you don’t have to check out

2:35 | towels you just take one when you need

2:37 | one and put it back when you’re done and

2:40 | there are no lifeguards at the pools

2:41 | here it’s swim at your own risk so I

2:44 | appreciate just being treated like an

2:46 | actual adult Al also talking about the

2:49 | crew and the staff on board um I did see

2:52 | some of the kids clubs out in about they

2:54 | took them out the kids out to the pool

2:56 | and they were actually playing with them

2:57 | in the pool and jumping in the water and

2:59 | interacting with with them playing

3:00 | different games and stuff like that so I

3:02 | do feel like the crew is really good the

3:04 | kids clubs are really good and it’s good

3:06 | for some chilled and more relaxed type

3:08 | families let’s talk about the food

3:11 | everyone talks about how much they love

3:14 | princess food that it’s more of an

3:15 | upscale luxury dining experience I will

3:18 | get more into that a little bit later

3:19 | but I will say it was the nicest most

3:22 | elaborately set up buffet with the most

3:24 | variety of like delicious choices I have

3:27 | seen on any cruise ship so props to you

3:30 | you get the best buffet at Sea

3:33 | princess now let’s talk about the pool

3:35 | situation one of the cons for me for

3:37 | Virgin voyages was that there was really

3:39 | only one pool and it was very small

3:42 | mostly just a place to sit down but here

3:44 | on the sky princess we’ve got two big

3:47 | family pools a adults only pool called

3:50 | The Retreat and then you’ve also got the

3:52 | sanctuary which is like a paid place for

3:54 | adults to go during the day to be on

3:57 | like a Sund Deck with their own pool and

3:58 | hot tubs away from everyone else more on

4:01 | that later but you know three Big Pools

4:03 | Plus the Wake pool at the AFT of the

4:05 | ship that’s my personal favorite I think

4:07 | that was really good and like six hot

4:09 | tubs so really appreciate the pool

4:11 | situation here on princess next let’s

4:14 | talk about inside the cabin we’ve slept

4:17 | on this bed now for seven nights and I

4:19 | can tell you it wins the award for best

4:22 | sea Terrace sea balcony bed at

4:25 | Sea I thought that virgin’s beds were

4:28 | too hards they felt like futon I felt

4:30 | like Royals beds even on Symphony the

4:32 | Seas felt really hard like cardboard and

4:34 | I didn’t like it but the beds here on

4:36 | princess super

4:39 | comfortable the next thing I want to

4:42 | talk about is the enclave and the spa

4:46 | Lotus Spa experience I really thought

4:49 | The Enclave was awesome that’s the

4:51 | thermal Spa I like that they had a giant

4:53 | hot tub instead of just a pool like um

4:57 | virgin’s thermal Spa does they had

4:59 | multiple different steam rooms with hot

5:00 | seats and different like

5:02 | Aromas um and then they had different

5:05 | shower experiences cold showers hot

5:07 | showers Car Wash showers what Mist oh

5:11 | and the Mist shower I guess too yeah it

5:14 | was very cool it was very unique the hot

5:16 | heated Rock chairs were nice um the cool

5:20 | towels available were nice and the

5:22 | massage was really fantastic we did a

5:24 | 50-minute Swedish couples massage and I

5:27 | highly recommend it

5:30 | honestly I’ve been impressed with every

5:32 | cruise ship shows from Royal to Virgin

5:34 | to princess they’ve all been very good

5:38 | um in my opinion the singers and dancers

5:40 | have been good the special technical

5:42 | effects have been really impressive and

5:44 | really cool um so again on princess just

5:47 | like with the other CR cruise lines I do

5:49 | recommend the shows I think they are

5:51 | high quality and really well

5:57 | done so we just had afternoon tea

6:00 | delivered this was a complimentary perk

6:04 | of being an Elite member with Princess

6:06 | otherwise you can just go down to I

6:08 | think it’s the Cal main dining room and

6:10 | they offer these same things just down

6:13 | there at the dining room and you can

6:15 | complimentary um but we had it delivered

6:17 | to the room so first up

6:21 | here she opened this up and had me sniff

6:24 | it because they were literally just

6:27 | fresh baked chocolate chips scones and

6:30 | they smell delicious and they’re still

6:32 | hot so I’m going to be diving into that

6:36 | soon then the next one is the little

6:41 | sandwiches just looks like one of every

6:44 | kind of little lunch sandwich you could

6:46 | possibly think of

6:49 | there have you brought me Little Cakes

6:52 | those of you who’ve seen The

6:54 | Magicians and then the final one is is

6:57 | literally little cookies P

7:02 | cakes so I’m super excited to try all of

7:07 | that and then we have one that’s a

7:10 | coffee and one that’s a hot water for

7:12 | tea um they brought us some

7:16 | cream and two uh coffee

7:20 | cups and I’m really excited to try this

7:25 | clotted cream and jam princess is very

7:29 | very British with their um foods and so

7:33 | like you’re supposed to have scones with

7:35 | clotted cream and and jam some intrigued

7:38 | to try that and then here’s our tea we

7:42 | got English breakfast tea sorry um

7:46 | Patrick there we didn’t get Earl

9:44 | more I’d say a flexible category is

11:31 | cons um of Princess Cruise Line in

11:34 | general I feel a little bit nickled and

11:36 | dimed on princess just like I do on

11:39 | Royal I did it so much on Virgin but um

11:42 | virgin does have a higher base Fair

11:44 | because they include pretty much

11:46 | everything um but just like Royal and

11:49 | and princess I still felt like I was

11:50 | being upcharged a lot um I also feel

11:53 | like this is the smallest balcony at Sea

11:56 | of all the balcony rooms of all the

11:57 | ships we’ve been on AC across the three

11:59 | Cruise Lines this balcony just feels

12:02 | really tight and Tiny I can’t even turn

12:05 | the chair the other direction to face

12:06 | straight out um my knees would be

12:09 | running into this so pretty tight

12:12 | balconies on to the next con uh I will

12:16 | say the main dining room experience was

12:19 | did not live up to my expectations I had

12:21 | heard a lot of hype about how good the

12:23 | main dining room food was on princess so

12:25 | I had really high hopes going into it

12:27 | but it was just okay it wasn’t that it

12:29 | was bad by any means but I found feel

12:32 | like I found all the same Foods offered

12:34 | in the main dining room offered in the

12:36 | buffet and they were just as good and I

12:39 | could go get them myself and have a much

12:41 | quicker dining experience and I felt

12:43 | like the variety in the buffet was much

12:45 | better than what was offered in the main

12:47 | dining room that’s just me

12:51 | though thanks for hanging in there just

12:53 | a couple of cons left for the Princess

12:55 | Cruise Line but if you’re really

12:57 | enjoying this video you’re finding it

12:58 | helpful and anyway please go ahead and

13:08 | next con is that I feel like this on Sky

13:12 | princess the ship layout is very

13:14 | confusing it’s not intuitive at all

13:17 | there’s lots of times where you’re

13:18 | trying just to walk the perimeter of the

13:19 | ship and you’ll run into some sort of

13:21 | door or barricade that does crew only or

13:24 | you’ll run into a wall where you have to

13:26 | go up and down a level again to get to

13:28 | where you need to go and I just hate

13:30 | that I love I much prefer open Concepts

13:32 | where you can walk pass through the

13:34 | entire perimeter of the ship so as much

13:37 | as I love this ship and all of the

13:39 | venues I’ve been in I thought were

13:40 | really nice I just I’m not a fan of this

13:43 | layout and then my last two cons are my

13:47 | complimentary laundry snafu okay so

13:50 | we’re on a cruise right obviously any

13:53 | problem I could have it’s going to be a

13:55 | first world problem so let’s just nip

13:58 | that argument in the bud right here yep

14:00 | I’m privileged I’m on a cruise but I

14:03 | requested my laundry to be taken last

14:06 | night the clocks did move ahead an hour

14:09 | last night I get that still I requested

14:13 | my laundry be taken no one ever came so

14:16 | I figured they’d take it this

14:18 | morning so I left it out nice little bag

14:22 | here with my laundry laundry slip filled

14:25 | out we went and had breakfast we went

14:28 | out and walked around arounded things

14:31 | came back and I received this really

14:33 | cute little note right here but it

14:37 | says Miss

14:39 | Annie good day I’m so sorry but laundry

14:42 | pickup today is until 9:00 a.m. only

14:45 | thank

14:46 | you okay but I requested it last night

14:49 | that was before 9:00 a.m.

14:51 | today and it was one of my elite member

14:54 | perks is to get complimentary

14:58 | laundry so now I’m just going to have to

15:00 | go do it myself it’s fine it’s fine but

15:04 | just so you know make sure you request

15:06 | your laundry like within the first 3

15:08 | days of your cruise I know crazy you

15:10 | won’t have dirty clothes then but that’s

15:12 | when you need to request your laundry

15:13 | otherwise say don’t come get it and then

15:16 | they leave you a note saying they can’t

15:17 | do it as an Elite member of Princess

15:20 | Cruis land I was supposed to get

15:21 | complimentary laundry services and that

15:24 | didn’t happen I ended up doing it myself

15:26 | at the laundromat and paying um whatever

15:29 | is $3 to wash $3 to dry and then like a

15:31 | doar for soap so kind of bummed about

15:34 | that situation but the fact that they do

15:36 | have laundr mats on board could be

15:38 | considered a pro and then my final

15:41 | complaint is about the sanctuary that’s

15:43 | that paid up charge um to go into this

15:46 | adults only area kind of in the solarium

15:49 | area of the ship towards the forward um

15:52 | pool deck area and I like the idea of it

15:55 | because you get weighted on you get

15:57 | servers you get your own space obviously

15:59 | because it’s an upcharge there’ll be

16:00 | fewer people I guess ideally but I just

16:04 | don’t like it I want to be able to

16:06 | access all areas of this ship without

16:08 | having to pay more so that’s just

16:10 | another example of feeling a little bit

16:12 | nickled and dimed so to conclude who do

16:15 | I think Princess Cruise Lines are for um

16:18 | I think it is for couples who like maybe

16:22 | a little more luxurious experience like

16:24 | I said there’s some really nice

16:25 | amenities provided you are treated like

16:28 | a mature respons responsible adult um

16:30 | the food in the buffet is really good um

16:33 | and maybe for families like

16:35 | multi-generational families who are

16:36 | looking for a little more relaxed Vibe

16:38 | you don’t need all the bells and

16:40 | whistles um but you do like a few you

16:42 | know kids clubs or pool games activities

16:45 | or like they did like an ice carving

16:47 | demonstration just a little bit ago

16:49 | there is still some trivia and there are

16:51 | still the nightly shows so I feel like

16:53 | there’s enough entertainment to keep uh

16:55 | families engaged and not feeling bored
