Title: A whole new world!! Just wish it had a “lost” feature lol
Review: Incredible! Just wish it had a feature for if it’s lost… lolI used this for a few months with no connectivity issues! It always worked, the magnification was INSANE, and as a grown adult with two kids I still found it so interesting and entertaining! I would check different plants and just various things for hours 😅. I used it so much that I actually lost it! I have looked EVERYWHERE for months now, but it’s nowhere to be found and with Spring here and the garden getting busy, I desperately NEED it!! I wish it had a feature on the app that could make the microscope beep or something so you could track it down! Like the little key fobs they make for your tv remote, keys, etc. I swear, if I can ever spare the money for another one of these, I’m also going to buy a tracker to attach to it so I never lose it again! These past couple weeks I keep finding myself in situations saying “ugghhh, if ONLY I HAD MY MICROSCOPE!!” Like the other day my preschooler had a splinter that was causing a lot of pain, but was so tiny I could barely see it! And I can’t tell if my houseplants have spider mites so I have to clean every leaf by hand, and there are so many neat things outside in nature I want to look at up close! 😩😩😩But if you are on the fence, JUST GET IT! You will be amazed at what EVERYTHING looks like under a microscope!

Title: Absolute Garbage, now that MaxSee doesn’t work
Review: Garbage – Totally agree with other “1 star” reviewers. This scope WAS good for WiFi while MaxSee was working. Now, it is a paperweight. I have tried all other apps (Android), and nothing, including the one recommended by Takmly, will work more than 2 seconds before freezing and disconnecting. Too bad, it was good while it lasted. Now it goes into the trash, and I am looking for one of the competitors (that will work).Let me clarify something -At best, it as, in my opinion, a “toy”. The adjustment dials are WAY too sensitive, and you really have to have this mounted on something for it to be usable. For coins, on a stable base, where you can eventually set the focus on a specific point and swap coins (not moving the camera), it works well. Move the object, not the camera.More ‘clarification’ – to give you some idea of the sensitivity of the adjustment dials – on a ‘regular’ microscope, you could turn a dial maybe 3-5 full times to adjust the same that this does in maybe 1/2 turn. There is no fine tuning unless you are really lucky. For anything else (like looking at trichomes on a growing plant), it is close to useless. You have to be REALLY lucky to hold the camera still, at the right distance, at the right spot, for more than a second to have a chance to snap a photo. Again, a tripod mount would help here, but it was more of a challenge to use than it was worth. To be completely fair – IF you are hooking this up WIRED to a COMPUTER (NOT a phone, NOT using Wifi), and you are using the base (NOT handheld), and you are looking at something like coins, paper money, or fabric that you can slide into the focal area, you should be ok. Wireless, however, go find something else.Update 8/12/24 – after re-reading the review above, I do stand by what I said. I purchased this device when it DID work – when MaxSee worked. I used it for coins, stamps, and observing trichomes. While WILDLY sensitive and almost impossible to use if holding in your hand (I purchased a microphone stand to mount it on so it would be stable for looking at plants), it will work if mounted on a stand, AND connected by a wire to your computer. The wireless connectivity (the only reason I purchased this particular microscope) disappeared when MaxSee stopped working. You would think the company (Takmly) would develop and support their own software for this device, instead of relying on someone else.

Title: Sadly, a rather mediocre product
Review: Almost everything about this product is… okay… nothing is really great. The USB connection to computer is flaky, sometimes works, sometimes not. The WiFi connection to Android phone via Max-see app, *does* work, but I want higher resolution for images on my desktop machine. The Takmly Windows 10 program is… adequate, but max resolution for images is only 1280×720.Focusing with the ring on the camera is an exercise in frustration, and the camera is extremely sensitive to movement; even using a tripod did not make focusing much easier. I spent a lot of frustrating time getting the microscope to sync to my computer; the Windows program had multiple tabs that were related to network connectivity – it’s too bad the manual didn’t actually clearly point out that it is *not possible* to connect to computer via WiFi, only via USB… every digital microscope *except* the Takmly, clearly points that out on page 1.Frankly, I initially believed that all digital microscopes would have all these issues – until I tried the Jiusion WiFi 4K digital microscope. *That* device, for about the same price as the Takmly, is Excellent, in every detail that the Takmly is mediocre. Digital resolution on the PC supports my 3840×1600 screen, focusing with the ring is easy; in fact, even hand-held focusing is pretty doable… and the images are superb!!The only thing that *was* excellent about this device, was customer support; I contacted them multiple times, to get a PDF user manual, and to ask about WiFi on computer, and got prompt responses each time… it’s just too bad that there was nothing that they could do about the deficiencies of their device.

Title: 30$ brick due to crappy software, will update if I get a refund/resolution
Review: The app is broken and doesn’t work, this crappy microscope was cool before it turned into a brick. It was cool but the app stopped working, probably chinese spyware anyways. Currently working with the company to get a resolution.

Review: This is one of the best microscopes I’ve found for checking trichome developement on cannabis plants !One thing that may not be obvious are two buttons on the bottom of the unit that increase or decrease magnification….very helpful. It’s great to be able to capture pictures or videos on a phone or tablet while examining the trichomes, although I wish the button were placed closer to the front of the unit. It’s hard to keep the image focused while fumbling for the button.Apart from that, though, it works really well and I highly recommend it to any grower.

Review: I bought this to show “nature” in detail to my almost 4 year old grand daughter. It works surprisingly well and connected easily to an iPad mini. The optics/electronics are pretty good but the mechanical components (focus adjustment ring and stand) let the device down somewhat. Overall it’s a great device for the money and if the maker spent an extra $10.00 to improve the feel and rigidity of the mechanical components they would have an absolutely superb device
