Title: Really glad I got this
Review: This e reader is honestly one of my best purchases of the year so far. It fits anywhere and lets my eyes rest from a screen. I’ve already finished a book with it, Between Two Fires (btw recommend 10/10), and rly looking forward to read more with it. I made my own case for it to protect it and now i’m all set!So yea i think anyone should at least give it a try. No backlight/ front light but it’s fine bc it’s meant to be used on the go. The info of what it does and doesn’t have is in the description so the people not liking this because of the lack of light confuses me. If a light was a priority and immediate no, then why buy this in the first place? What it offers is what I needed and it may suit you too.

Title: Amazing Little Device
Review: Amazing little device. If you want to read more and are busy, it is the perfect way to get more reading in throughout your day. The X4 acts as a complementary device in my use case, since I still like reading on paperback at home when I have the time, but can immediately switch over to my X4 when I’m out and moving around. If you do get this device, I would recommend switching to the Crosspoint firmware over the official, and take a few minutes to learn the operation. Other than that, its so easy to use and even more convenient.

Title: Bye bye kindle!
Review: I love this little e reader so much!. I was looking for something that was light weight supposed to my kindle, because I would get a lot of fatigue holding it!. This e reader is the PERFECT size for my small hands. I love how pocketable it is. I can whip it out quickly whenever time needs to be passed. And with the ability to flash cross point on it, makes everything so convenient. I will never go back to my heavy e reader again!!.

Title: Don’t Do It….
Review: I fell for the content creators hype and instantly regretted it.The good: it’s smallThe bad: no backlight (full daylight reading only), totally counter intuitive or confusing user interface buttons, clunky firmware out of the box, slightly less clunky firmware with reflash to Crosspoint, lengthy “re-indexing” wait after any setting change. Did I mention NO backlight?I don’t know about you, but much of the time I want to pick up something to read I’m not going to have full daylight. This thing is unreadable unless you’ve got really good lighting. The buttons are a hot mess. There’s no indication that they are rocker buttons, but after a while you kind of figure it out. But even then they don’t make sense. I found that even after fiddling a bit AND some times having them labeled in Crosspoint I was guessing more often than not at which to press. If the stock firmware is so bad that it immediately needs to be replaced with something else, that’s a pretty good indicator that overall the product isn’t going to be worth it.In Crosspoint every time you change a setting the thing just sits there for a while “re-indexing”. I guess when you leave and re-open a book it needs to do that? Annoying. It’s only positive is, it’s small. That doesn’t make up for all the negatives.Back to Amazon it goes.

Title: Great little e-reader
Review: installed Crosspoint community firmware and it made the device feel significantly better, love the size, don’t really mind the lack of backlight for the cost.

Title: best on-the-go-anywhere ereader
Review: I’ve had this for quite a while now, and while the included OS is ok, I wouldn’t really recommend it for anyone without flashing over to the community CrossPoint firmware, which has more options for book reading utility. For hardware, most everything is right.+ USB C charging/flashing port+ several buttons for page turning options+ nearly no power drain when off, lasting weeks, and charging from emtpy to full in less than an hour+ crisp clear eink screen without touch+ magnet compatible with magsafe phones+ uSD card for as much or as little storage as neededThough there are a few things that could be improved.- the magnets are on the bottom, so the device needs to be flipped topside down to attach to pretty much any phone- there’s no data (other than re-flashing the OS) over USB C, so transfer books via uSD card reader or WiFi- bluetooth support is basic

Title: Perfect little e-reader
Review: I have 2 of these (black and white) and love them both. It fits in my e-ink device roation perfectly being easier to transport than my kindle or Boox tab ultra. I did flash Crosspoint onto it as it’s more feature rich and fits my needs better. It does have some flaws though, both expected and unexpected.Direct sunlight does have a negative effect on page turns (especially on the white model), but crosspoint has a decent software fix for it and it can be worked around easily by either turning the screen away from the sun, or covering the area above the buttons on the front face while turning pages. Some people also complain about the lack of a front light, but unless you are reading in the dark, it’s not a huge deal. If you couldn’t read a normal book in low lighting, then you couldn’t read this. It’s practically the same. It’s also nowhere near as quick as something as your phone, but it an esp32 and honestly is way faster than I had expected it to be and nothing noticeable outside of chapter indexing. And that’s it for the negatives.Everything else I love. The battery lasts a couple weeks with pretty heavy reading, it’s super portable, I love being able to stick it to metal things, the community projects are awesome, I don’t get eye strain like on my phone, it works with all my epubs, it connects great to my Kavita library, it syncs with koreader, and most importantly, it lets me read more. I think it’s a great entrypoint to e-readers or a good extra device to use on the go or when traveling light. I’ve only had it about a month, but I’ve been able to read 6 books so far.
