Review: I got this head mounted magnifying visor for detailed craft work that requires close up focus, but I’ve used it for small repairs and reading fine print, as well, and the clarity has been very good without distortion. So, I’m finding this product to be more useful than I first imagined and a great value.This is a white magnifying visor that comes with six interchangeable lenses ranging from 1.0X to 4.0X. Switching lenses is quick and straightforward, and the different magnification levels make it easy to adjust depending on the task. The built in LED light has three color modes and adjustable brightness, which really helps reduce eye strain and improves visibility in different lighting conditions. The lenses are made of clear acrylic and feel lightweight but sturdy. The frame is a durable plastic, and the headband has a soft rubber strip that rests comfortably against the forehead. Title: Good for what it is
Review: First, it should be noted that all the images in the product listing showing its use are fake: the headgear wouldn’t sit the way it does in those images and the people are much farther away from what they’re doing than what this headset would require. Also, I really wanted it to be better than it is, but I’m evaluating it for it is, not for what it isn’t. That said, it’s great for what it can do at its price point, and I find it to be a good value.The set comes with the headpiece, a case of 6 magnifiers, a USB-C to USB cable, and a small microfiber cloth (good for handling and changing the magnifiers). The headpiece has an adjustable (light and direction) lamp with 3 brightness levels that can be used for cool, warm, and cool/warm combo (the brightest) lighting. The magnifiers clip into a piece that can be adjusted further out or further in, as well as swinging in & out. It has two side extensions like glass, but they don’t rest on your ears; they have extendable inserts that wrap around your head and each end has a strong magnet to connect to the other and can firmly hold the headgear in place on your head once properly fitted. The majority of the headpiece is made of cheap plastic, but that does make it very light, which allows the end magnets to nicely hold it in place. The nose piece can also be adjusted to fit your bridge. It may take a while to get all the settings just right for you, but once dialed in, it’s a breeze to use and swap out magnifiers.The 6 magnifiers are basically like reading glasses and require the user to be closer to the subject the higher the magnification. The highest magnification is 4.0x, which isn’t really four times the magnification and requires the subject to be about 2”-3” away from me for clarity (the box says the focal length of 4.0x is 138.5mm), and even then it isn’t as high a magnification I was hoping for; but again, I’m evaluating it for it it is, not for what it isn’t.While it’s not the most comfortable, it can be adjusted for tolerability for projects, but I wouldn’t use it as a replacement for reading glasses, though it could be. My immediate desired use is for tiny painting details that are simply too blurry for my eyes these days, but it has a number of potential uses.
