VOLUBILIS, MOROCCO: Ancient Roman Ruins and Meknes Imperial City

VOLUBILIS, MOROCCO: Ancient Roman Ruins and Meknes Imperial City

In episode 4 of our Morocco vlog we travel to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, near the Moroccan Imperial City of Meknes, for glimpse into Maroc history. A walking tour of the Medina & Royal Palace complex in Meknes follows, and we try the local delicacy, Camel Burgers. Do we like it? Watch and find out.

Our final destination for the day is Fez. Will our Riad accommodation on the edge of Fez Medina live up to the standard set by our incredible hotel in Chefchaouen (spoiler alert, it does!!!)?

If you are interested in ancient Roman history then you will enjoy our trip to Volubilis. The ruins are well preserved, and there is lots to see, including mosaics, temples, a large basilica, and a grand Triumphal Arch.

Meknes is a very historical city as well. There are many tiny alleyways in the old medina to explore and the Royal Palace complex is immense.

Whether you are researching the best things to do in Morocco, or you are interested in ancient Roman history, we hope that you find this video useful and entertaining.
