Title: Comfortable and amplifies sound well
Review: Comfortable fit. My husband said they are comfortable and wears them for the entire day without them falling out. The ergonomic design keeps them in place. Conveniently there is a portable charging case. The hearing aids connect magnetically and stay securely in place while charging. They have a long lasting battery life and charge quickly. They amplify sound while cancelling out other background noises. They are inexpensive and high quality.

Title: BL04RD – 18 months of use – my experience
Review: I own two pairs of Banlijian BL04RD receiver in canal (RIC) hearing aids. I purchased the first pair in June of 2023 and because I have been happy with those, I bought a second pair during the Black Friday sale of 2024. Both perform exactly the same. They are rugged. The charging case is excellent. They can be worn for many hours when charged. Note that the proper choice of the rubbery ear domes can make a big difference. Test the ear domes well. I did try another $100. brand of the type that you insert in your ears. The BL40RD’s are better.— Background: I’m 75 and very analytical. I’ve read many reviews on devices costing much much more and am not inclined to spend that kind of money on expensive aids with complicated features that still get many bad reviews. At 75, I really doubt that any hearing aid, no matter how expensive, could do what my ears could fifty years ago. Certainly the reviews on very expensive hearing aids do not reveal that somehow they repair the failing ears, the brain connected to them and turn back time. A well to do friend who has been down the $10,000 and $5000 road told me he rates his expensive aids at; “5 out of 10 – they are not the ears I used to have”.My hearing loss is symmetrical and sloping with respect to frequency loss. That is, both ears have similar difficulty hearing sounds at low frequency (bass) and even more difficulty hearing sounds as the frequency increases into the treble range. My decibel loss is moderate along the slope, dipping into severe at higher frequencies. This is a very common type of hearing loss as we age. I can’t hear tones higher than 7000 hz at all (at reasonable volume). Considering that I have lost a large amount of hearing I believe these Banglijian aids are very powerful as I have never needed to go above setting 5 of 9.Keep in mind I am not being compensated in any way for this review. I know nothing about Banglijian as a company. I have, however, emailed some questions to Banglijian since I bought the first pair in 2023, and I have been totally amazed by their rapid response literally within hours. I do believe as others have said that they offer excellent customer service.— Here is my experience with the BL04RD’s in various situations. Keep in mind the important fact that I have worn the Banlijians for 18 months and my brain has become acclimated to having hearing assistance.1) Around the house: (Just my wife and I. My wife at 75 has excellent hearing.) I am very happy with Banglijian hearing aids. I set them at volume 1, 2, or 3. The house, when quiet, sounds totally quiet with them on. There is absolutely no unwanted noise coming from the the aids. I can hear the usual household sounds very well, e.g. my wife in another room, fan, dishwasher, etc. The spin dry cycle of the washing machine is loud from 20’ away but I don’t need to turn the volume down. I rarely get an annoying squeal. I can understand my wife’s words easily but without the aids I can barely hear or understand her as she is a soft talker. With the aids on we can carry on a normal conversation which we absolutely cannot do when I’m not wearing them. If I’m not wearing the aids I get ‘the look’ and immediately put them on.2) Driving the car: Very happy with them. I reach up and turn the volume down to setting 1 or 2. Road noise is moderate but generally not bad (our Honda CRV is a fairly noisy vehicle) and I can still carry on a conversation with my wife except when loud road noise intervenes. It seems that the aid’s noise reduction is effective without hurting voices a lot. During highway driving road noise is more of an issue but the hearing aids still have a positive effect.3) Grocery shopping in a crowded supermarket: Very happy with them. Volume setting 3, 2 or 1. Never a squeal. Ambient noise is well managed by the aids so I can move around the store comfortably. I can hear and understand my wife amidst the supermarket noise which makes shopping so much more pleasant rather than frustrating. I can talk to the checkout person, bagger and friends I run into. That is very troublesome without the aids.4) Watching TV: volume setting to 3. Our TV has a decent Dolby 5.1 surround system with a very good Klipsch center channel speaker. The overall results with the aids on are pretty good, vastly improved over not wearing them. The aids allow me to listen at the TV volume setting my wife desires. The dialogue is clear when the show’s audio track is well composed. However, the dialogue track as broadcast is often muddy. My wife and I keep subtiles on all of the time for that reason. At 75, our brains can no longer process a mumbly voice in a bucket full of secondary noises added or left on the track by an audio engineer wearing $3500.00 headphones.———Research it yourself. Ask Google what percent of Americans use closed captioning all of the time.“According to a 2022 survey by Preply, 50% of Americans use subtitles or closed captions most of the time they watch content. However, younger generations are more likely to use subtitles than older generations:Gen Z: 70% of Gen Z respondents said they use subtitles most of the timeMillennials: 53% of Millennials said they use subtitles most of the timeGen X and Baby Boomers: Less likely to use subtitles than younger generationsJan 22, 2024 — Emphasizing this point, Preply notes that 62% of Americans use captions and subtitles more on streaming services than on regular TV.————5) My extended family at and in vicinity of the dinner table: ( six to eight adults plus four to six kids of various ages ). It results in a lot of simultaneous talking, voices talking over one another and odd noises. It’s much like an audio track of a TV show playing in Dolby surround sound – but without the irritating music.- Without the BL04RD’s I can’t follow any conversation for more than about 10 seconds unless it’s fairly loud and directed right at me. I feel weirdly isolated from the crowd as I’m struggling to understand any duscussion whatsoever. It’s very disorienting as I drift in and out of the dialogue flow, mostly out of it.-With the BL04RD’s – Great improvement. I can be part of a conversation successfully. I don’t feel isolated if I focus on one conversation at a time. I can sometimes tune in on the ebb and flow of voices around me but when there is too much commotion I need to fall back to focus on one conversations. I don’t blame the hearing aids for that. I blame my 75 year old brain which can’t process a multitude of very different voices and sounds and extract only what I want to hear. Truth is…. I want to hear every conversation at once but that’s not possible. I can’t blame that impossible expectation on the hearing aids either.I believe it takes months, if not years to learn how to adjust our hearing expectations, to learn to listen properly and to retrain the brain as we grow older wearing hearing aids. The Banglijian BL04RD hearing aids are significantly compensating for my loss. My best advice based on my experience is: If you’re a first time purchaser of hearing aids, give them some time before you judge. Learn how to use them. Adjust to your new reality. I’ve given these 5 stars because I think the price-value is excellentGood luck with whatever choice you make!

Title: An excellent set of hearing aids that compare favorably with those costing five times the price!
Review: These were a wonderful surprise. I never expected a set of relatively inexpensive hearing aids to be this good. So good in fact, that I would compare them favorably to those costing five times the price. One of the surprises was just how small the unit itself is. My mother-in-law purchased a set from a major retailer, and they cost about 7 times as much as these. They are nearly identical, and on top of that HER’S are not rechargeable! These are rechargeable, and take about 3 hours to a full, complete charge.Unlike other hearing aids I have tried in the past, these did not come fully charged. That was a bit of a disappointment, but once charged (again, 3 hours!) they were ready to wear.I easily found a silicone ear tip that fit me perfectly. This has been a challenge with other hearing aids, but this kit comes with a great deal of choices.Once in my ear I discovered my one issue with this set: The are so small, and my fingers are so fat, that adjusting them, and turning them on and off was a bit challenging. Having now worn these for a few days I can tell you that it’s now easy for me to turn them on and off. Beyond that, once I had made my initial adjustment to the volume, no further adjustment was necessary. The kit includes the storage case, which is also the charging case, a charging cable (USB on one end, USB-C on the other), a ear wax cleaning kit, a small brush, 4 little bags containing rubber ear tips, a very acceptable owner’s manual and a warranty card.I would just like to point out that many hearing aid users avoid this type of hearing aid (“behind the ear”), and opt for an “in the ear canal” type. Usually they say the reason is because they’re embarrassed for people to see that they’re wearing hearing aids. The truth is, these are so small that if you have any hair on your head these will be hidden. In my case, I shave my head, so they are indeed visible. However, these are so good that I don’t concern myself with this. These are really nice, and in my opinion, a great value. You’ll be shocked at just how small these really are, and how great the sound is.
