Title: Heavy, flawed, eventually painful, but worth owning! Amazing for the price!!
Review: Heavy. For a drummer to wear for an 8 hour session, he needed breaks. As an engineer, I can be in the live room with a guitarist while he plays loudly and still monitor the other tracks along with him, so it’s great for that.pressure is pretty intense, if you’re already having a headache, don’t use them that day. Also, posture and neck angle make a difference, because the top is so heavy. They feel like they will last a good 10 years, but the strain relief where the cable meets the left phone, that is where the problem is going to be. Also the coiled cable doesn’t stretch as easily as you might want it to. It pulls hard enough to unplug them, so get an extension cable. All these complaints, I still give them 5 stars because they block out the sound, have local volume control (that knob on the side) and sound decent. You could use them with a metal detector, operating a radio, etc etc. They are also decently comfortable with one ear on and the other ear against the side of your forehead or wherever so you can hear the world while using them if needed (DJ style, but I would not recommend them for DJs only because they do not look cool enough and the cans don’t pivot all the way out. If they did, they would be pretty great for that).

Title: Koss QZ-99 Noise Reduction Stereophone GREAT HEADPHONES!
Review: Wow, just WoW! .. These are like the ear protection we used in the military.. we called them micky mouse ears.. they were hard plastic cups that encased the ears with sound silencing materials lining the inside. If you combined micky mouse ears with the little plastic insert ear plugs you became effectively deaf.. well tehse headphones are like mickey mouse ears with speakers installed. They passivly block external sounds thru extremely effective sound silencing. and the audio is not bad either. the cable is curly so it does not get caught up in my chair’s wheels or drag on the floor.. yet it has the reach where i can stand up and move around the room a bit so i love the cord.. love the headphones.. the ONLY draw back is they do put some pressure on your head. and being a bit airtight you might sweat in a hot environment. bottom line is tho i have found the love of my life when it comes to headphones. I really like these headphones, they are high quality construction. They sound great too but i’m no sound expert. They are over the ear.. except they rest on the bottom of my earlobes.. update: july 2015, well the adustable volume makes the left ear drop out.. you have to spin the volume back and forth like your wearing thru the corrosion on the resistor parts so it gets a good connection. The wires are solid.. the connections are solid.. I believe this intermittant left ear connection is in the variable resistor itself.. not in a faulty wire or connection. So sadly we go from a 5 to something less due to they used a cheap part.. which cheapened what would otherwise be a first class product. I know this product is discontinued so perhaps this was why. bottom line is the left ear is dropping out and i have to mess with the volume knob to restore the left ear sounds. i might try the upgraded version of this and pray they aren’t using the same part that is failing here.

Title: Good for radio DJs
Review: I’m a college radio DJ, and I was looking to acquire some on-air headphones to replace my previous pair that broke in half. Even though these are designed for metal-detector use, I gotta say I definitely get great use out of them. I’ll list out the pros and cons real quick:PROS: The equalization is pretty flat, so it makes listening to vocal audio levels pretty easy and crisp. The sound/noise reduction is actually pretty on point, and if I keep both cups on my ears I am completely isolated from any external noise. (I typically do air breaks with only one cup on my ear, though). I REALLY like the volume control knob on the ear cup. If I’m talking into the mic, it’s a lot easier to adjust the on ear cup volume than to re-orient my body and find the headphone level on our console. Love the 8 ft cord.CONS: Not good for music. Like at all. No bass response, and it’ll get clippy with high levels. Not extremely comfortable for long periods of time. They are tight headphones on the head, so taking them off kind of feels like popping your ears if you’ve had them on for a while. They’re also super ugly. I wouldn’t be caught dead walking down the street with these on. But I should say that I like the rugged look of them when I’m in the studio, they feel well made.

Title: Good sound reproduction. Good acoustic isolation. Good value for the price.
Review: My all time favorite headset was a Koss Pro4AA, which I bought in about 1972. I have been searching for a true replacement for a long time. I tried a Koss Pro4AA Titanium, and was greatly disappointed. Primarily because they have very poor acoustic isolation even though they are a sealed over the ear unit. I have also tried a vast number of wired and wireless earbud units. The best one I have found was a KLIPSCH R5 neckband unit, which also fails the isolation requirement. All this brings me to the Koss QZ-99.This unit reproduces the high end of the spectrum as well as any unit I have tried. My test playlist sounds the way it is supposed to sound in that range. If I has an equalizer on my iPad to pump up the bass for my preference I would rate this unit the equal of my Pro4AA in its prime. Why do I say that? This unit provides acoustic isolation equal to that provided by my deluxe shooting ear protectors. I can hear my music or my ball game, without nagging my wife to turn down her mystery on Hallmark, or her shopping spree on QVC.This unit is well constructed and well made, read that as heavy. They seem like they will be in it for the long haul. Yet they are well padded in the ear cushions and the headband. I like these headphones. I think you will also.

Review: Got it for my metal detector, very nice quality of structure. I use it 4-6 hours in a row, a bit heavy, but i don’t feel any pressure on my head or fatigue. For those who wants to use it as a music headphones, first – check if your player device will be able to handle its 60 homs, if your devise has no equalizer probably you not gonna be happy 😉 My mac plays great, no issues at all. I never go over 60-70% of the volume level. Everything that KOSS published at an official web-page meets with what i’ve got. So, i would recommend it, but only if you know how to use it.
