Title: Great phone for Dad w/dementia
Review: This phone really helped my father, who has severe dementia, be able to dial out to friends and family. It comes with lots of icons that you can use and a template to help you make your own. (I actually used the template to make my own with images of the people to help Dad, who barely can keep people straight by names alone. My only complaint is that I thought the speed dial image buttons would be more button-like. That area is actually pretty flat, instead of individualized raised buttons like I thought it would be. The small issue with this is that it makes it slightly harder to visually distinguish between the areas and you have to push harder than you should in the center of the icons to make a call. I would prefer these to be actual buttons like the numbers below so it’s easier for people with physical issues. I couldn’t really tell the difference in sound quality, but perhaps that’s because I don’t have hearing issues. The ringer and sound on the phone was definitely louder than a normal phone though!Overall, very happy with this product, especially at such a reasonable price. My father was very happy to be able to have an easier way to call those closest to him since his dementia prevents him from being able to look people up in the phone book and dial their number that way. It really helped him feel less isolated when he was in his home with a caregiver. And he got a click at how clever the technology was. Now that we’ve moved him in to a memory assisted living unit, we took the phone with him so he can continue to feel like it’s easy to get in contact with those in the “outside world.”My father’s delight and slightly increased feeling of independence made this well worth every penny. If he would have stayed in the house, we would have bought one for every phone jack.

Title: Great phone for those suffering from hearing loss
Review: I purchased this phone for my 86 y/o Mother who is suffering from hearing loss and a touch of dementia. The amplified handset increases the incoming sound quite a bit! The phone has an over ride button so it will remain in the amplified mode when selected. The picture buttons is simply one touch dialing instead of trying to read names or numbers or even trying to dial numbers, Which is difficult for her. It does not have a speaker phone keep in mind this phone is designed around the ability to HEAR a call. It does have an external speaker jack also an L.E.D. light that lights up when the phone rings. Before purchasing this phone my Mother could not carry on a phone conversation on any other type of phone. With this phone she has been able to talk as long as she wants and call whoever she wants. It is very easy to program. It does take a 9 volt battery and the battery compartment door is a bit difficult to open. I would rather have that battery compartment door hard to open and not have the battery flopping around etc. Over all its a great phone for the elderly!

Title: Good phone, but louder would be better
Review: This phone was ordered as a replacement for a FutureCall FC-1507 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FMH3INW) which didn’t work with our StraightTalk Wireless Home Phone unit. The Clarity P300 worked immediately and without problem. I would expect no less from a division of Plantronics (I didn’t realize that Clarity was owned by Plantronics when ordered).Pluses are:– Nine one-touch speed dial buttons (whether or not you take time to set up the pictures)– Large, high-contrast number buttons (not as large as the FutureCall, but still fairly easily for visually impaired person to use)– Slider adjustment for volume boost (many amplified phones just have high/low settings)– White case — visually impaired have hard time using black phones, which seem to be the prevailing fashion– Loud ringer plus flashing LEDMinuses:– No LED display for caller ID of incoming calls and verification of number being dialed for outgoing calls– Controls at bottom of phone are small for visually impaired person to use– A louder boost would be desirable (18db amplification is adequate, but not really strong– FutureCall amplifies 40db)– No speakerphone capabilityAll in all, a good phone for an elderly person. Many people who have hearing impairments also have eyesight limitations, so this phone strikes a reasonable compromise between size of top panel elements and over size of unit. Photos are good for someone with memory problems, but photo sizes are small for a visually limited person to identify. We set up bold initials for the button labels which work better for a visually impaired senior.

Review: I purchased this phone for my elderly mother who has trouble hearing and also has little use of her hands. It was easy to program am she now can press a single button to reach her children easily. The sound is amplified and she can hear clearly. She is on Covid lockdown in a care facility and this phone is a godsend to us to keep in touch.

Review: Seems cheaply made, but works as described. Method of identifying phone number keys is tantamount to a nursery school cutout exercise…made my own identifiers as the supplied stickers were woefully inadequate. Ring wasn’t as loud as I expected.

Review: This is why you don’t write a product review until some time has passed. Worked well initially then became defective and doesn’t work properly. Seller won’t take it back because I don’t have the original packaging. Who and why would anyone keep the original packaging for more than 30 days? Just a cop out by the seller not to issue a replacement or refund. One because of this reason

Review: I like the phone, as did my mother-in-law for the whole 5 minutes she got to look at it. I programmed the nine numbers at my house, which is a 5 hour drive from her house, thinking the numbers would stay in memory. Well, as confirmed by the company today, the numbers only stay in memory for maybe up to 30 minutes. Would have been nice to know! I could have saved some time and energy (and embarrassment – someone else delivered the phone for me and I assured them it was ready to go, just had to be plugged in).The main issue was that the phone worked fine at my house, but when it was plugged in at my mother-in-law’s there was so much loud static that neither party on the call could hear the other. A call to the company and I’m told a DSL Filter is required. I just ordered one on Amazon where some reviews say it does the trick and the static is gone, while others say it didn’t do anything to get rid of the static. I won’t know until it arrives June 1st, I arrange for for delivery of the phone, and they get it all programmed yet again.I hope it works this time! It was supposed to be her Mother’s Day gift and she was disappointed that it had to taken away; her memory issues make it difficult for her to dial phone numbers accurately. So, it seems like the answer to her difficulties, but I feel these issues should have been covered in the Amazon description. I could have easily ordered a DSL Filter at the same time. And surely its a minor thing to mention the 30 minute max for storage of numbers when the unit is unplugged!
