Title: Well-made but too strong of a magnification for my needs
Review: This is the first loupe I have purchased. I need one for looking at sterling silver markings on jewelry. This is too powerful for my needs. It’s a little hard to focus quickly. That will probably improve with practice. It will work well looking for error coins. I will keep it but I’m going to order a 10x to go with it. Best of both worlds. This loupe is well made, and the light is very bright. I’m happy with the purchase.

Title: Requires batteries
Review: The price was adequate but in the end I decided I didn’t want to be replacing batteries. The battery compartment was more accessible than some other units I had tried.

Title: Bright light up loupe
Review: Makes looking at small hallmarks on jewelry a pleasure with the bright light. My old x10 is good but this one really brings the markings up close. If your eyes are getting old and tired like mine I highly recommend this loupe.

Title: Decent Loupe, Not 30x
Review: I use a loupe mostly to inspect the edge of my knives when I’m sharpening. I’ve been using a 10x Bausch & Lomb for the past few years but figured the built in light would be nice (it is) and a little more magnification would sometimes be helpful, and that’s where I take issue. If I hold the loupe up close to my eye where I can get a strong “anchor” on my cheek for better focus, this is almost exactly the same magnification as my 10x B&L. I can hold the loupe further from my eye and get more magnification, but it’s very hard to hold steady when you don’t have the your hand holding the loupe up against your face, and the further away from your eye the more the edges start to distort. This is a guess, but I’d say 20x is the most you are going to get, and 10x-12x is more realistic.
